You may use it , but need to wash & dry them properly. To be frank i haven't used it in salt water , am judging on the basis of the made quality.

Incorrect readings. The piece received is probably defective.

The meter shows incorrect readings. Tested on branded bottled water. 1st reading - Bottled water PH - 7.3 Meter reading - 6.03 2nd Reading - Bottled Water PH 6.8 Meter Reading - 6..30 3rd Reading - Using Supplied PH Buffer Solution ( included with the meter) PH - 9.8 Meter reading - 6.48 Tap water - Meter reading 6.2 . Usually the tap water in UAE is also around 7 Ph. TDS readings were found to be ok. Generally the meter appears to be of good quality but the received piece is defective, would be interested in buying again.Appreciate if the supplier can replace the piece on urgent basis as my hydroponic solution needs urgent adjustment of PH.
