There is luminosity only in the four cardinal directions on the interior of the compass, while the degree markings around the outer circumference are plain white paint. In order to be fully functional for luminous use, the compass would need luminous markers on the cardinal points and also on the degree markers. This would make such a compass very expensive indeed. There may be a small amount of tritium dust embedded in the paint but these are not solid tritium markers such as you would find on high grade rifle sights. The markers glow very faintly but you can enhance the glow by shining a bright light onto the markers for several seconds. If the compass fits your watchband, it will be functional but don't expect military grade performance. In pitch dark, you will need to acquire a ray of light from somewhere in order to use this compass. Moonlight should be sufficient to allow use of the compass but not sufficient to charge the luminous markers. **Q: What os (one size) means? does it mean it can work in northern and southern hemisphere?** A: The clipper model # SS004102011 is for the Northern hemisphere The clipper Model # SS004102012 is for the Southern hemisphere OS means Ordnance Survey as already explained **Q: This can be used for diving? I don't see a depth resistance rating on it's description. Thanks.** A: Mine has survived 15+ dives between 40 and 80 ft and works great clipped to the lower strap of my wrist-mounted computer just above where it meets the buckle. I don't expect any problems with zero air visible inside. **Q: is this model made in China** A: The Suunto Clippers that I received were manufactured in Finland. Quando è arrivata ho confrontato l'indicazione del nord con quelle dello smartphone e c'era una discrepanza che mi aveva deluso. Poi ho letto che la bussola degli smartphone a volte è meglio ricaricarla (nel mio caso con android muovendo lo smartphone a otto coricato, come il simbolo dell'infinito) e in effetti ora segnano la stessa posizione. Nella mia ignoranza del settore mi sarei fidato di più di un dispositivo elettronico ma ora sono ancora più contento dell'acquisto.
