1.25mm Male and Female Connectors Socket and Plug with Pre-Crimped Cables Compatible with JST Molex PicoBlade 1.25 for Pixhawk Silicone 13cm Wire (Male and Female)

The wire included in this set is nice silicone insulated 28AWG wire. The wire feels much better than the alternative with PVC wire. The sizes in this set range from 2P to 6P. If you need more than 6P, you should get the set with PVC insulated wire since it has the range of 2P to 10P. If you get the other set, you might want to also get this set. The wire in this set is so much nicer than the PVC wire. I purchased both sets and I'm glad I did. If you have trouble inserting the crimped connectors into the housing, you might want to get the version with PVC wire. The PVC wire is easier to use when making up sets of connectors. You really need to be careful when making a connector. The small metal latch has to be inserted in the correct orientation. It's easier to understand how these connectors go together if you take apart one which had been previously prepared. The proper orientation of the metal end isn't always intuitive. The connector never really feels completely secure but I think that's the downside of using connectors this small. The connectors in this set work just fine with the 1.25mm connectors in the PVC wire set. Keep in mind, these are small connectors. You can't power normal sized servos with this sort of connector. These connectors are mainly used on data lines.

The connectors and pre-tipped wires are perfect for my needs. I wanted to be able to add/remove items from a model train steam locomotive, and these did the trick. I have enough to last me a lifetime, that's for sure!

CONs: This should have come with printed instructions. Figuring out the way the wires go in the connectors, and that the connectors have retaining clips built in to keep the wires in place, took more time in the trial-and-error period than I would have liked. PROs: Once I got the construction issues worked out, it was off to the races. The forceps are very handy for handling the small parts and pressing the wires into the connectors without crimping the wires. The wires are decent quality and the insulation strips easily with a fingernail. I like the customization for multiple connections with whatever wire colors you need to keep track of complex wiring. TIPs: Use a multimeter to check for continuity to ensure the wires are seated properly in the connectors BEFORE installing them in your project.

I spent 2 hours trying to assemble female connectors. Out of 5 connectors, one came out. It seems like the plastic connector is too weak and doesn't hold on to the nub. This results in the pins pushing out. Once that happens, the connector is ruined and you have to try a new one. This can be tricky to know because sometimes to metal holding nub gets bent too. But that you can bend back out again with patience and a knife. This is going back.
