Product Description Various styles of dance music with touches of electronica, soul, funk, down-tempo (chill out), latin and world. About the Artist Manny G comes from a musical family. His father, Manolin Gonzalez, was a well-known Latin/Jazz saxophonist and flutist who played with Ismael Rivera, Tito Puente and Mario Rivera. Manny G's uncles (Jorge - Trumpet, Odalis - Bass, Rhadames - Sax) and grandfather (Manolo - Piano) all performed together and in various groups (Orquesta Tambora, Conjunto Gonzalez). Jorge had a hit latin single, "Chupa Chupa", as did Manolin with "Tapate De La Lengua". Manny G's mother, Rafaela, was a local singer in the Dominican Republic. Manny G was also a mobile DJ, keyboardist, saxophonist, flutist, and re-mixer from 1975 to 1994. Sammy D was a local DJ, dance promoter, and well-known copywriter in the advertising world. Samann, created in 1985 as a musical collaborative project by Manny G and Sammy D, was restarted in 2005 with the release "Mofongo" (B-Side Gourmet - www.bsidegourmet.com). Samann is now melding various styles (funk, dance, electronica, pop, latin, country, R&B, techno, chill out) into a "world dance" sound.
