Is it safe to pour freshly brewed hot tea in it without breaking?

I did so for YEARS. And then one day, it shattered as I was pouring the hot water in, as I had done 1,000 times before, leaving me with 3 degree burns on my arm and stomach, and glass shards everywhere. Looking for a new one, I see it isn't rated to go above 80 degrees celsius. My bad.

Can you shake the container without spilling?

That is true. It leaks all over when you pour. New cover is poorly designed. Old version d it didn’t do that

How is this pitcher at pouring? I recently got "burned" by a pitcher that dribbled for the first 1/4 of the pitcher.

It is great. I use it every day to store my green smoothies batch. Since the pour spout has a small opening, the juices don't cause the lid to explode. When it is totally full, I might dribble a few drops but only because the liquid is heavy with the glass. Still a nice slim design that fits in the fridge easily.
