Roughneck Digging Spade

Very good value for the price and did the job I needed it for perfectly , very strong and a decent spade I would of paid a lot more for this item at B&Q , so if you are thinking of buying this item I would highly recommend.

It’s well made, good for general gardening use. Tried digging a root with it and the blade started to flex.

Roughneck are solid, great bedding spade, lightweight and strong, easy digging, good for big feet.

I’m a landscaper, I bought this spade dokey for stripping turf… she’s a beauty, comfortably light weight, great price, strong enough for my purpose, sharp enough to easily slice through grass roots. I’ve bent enough tools in my time to know not to try digging out big roots with it Love the brand would deffo buy again

I'm a big fan of Roughneck tools, so when my wooden shafted spade snapped I decided to purchase this one. First impressions are that it's very light (good) a good length for me (I'm over 6ft) and it appears to be well made and available at a reasonable price. The downside: the blade of the spade is quite thin and it flexes noticeably if you are pushing 'up', for example when digging out a big plant. It is very noticeable but probably depends on your soil. Whether this means it will break I don't know. I can't understand why the bade is not thicker, as with say Wilkinson Sword spades (albeit the wooden handle on mine snapped!). Time will tell. I'm pretty happy with it save for that one point, which may not be an issue.

Nachdem der Spaten in fester Erde zum Einsatz kam, kann ich nur sagen: totaler Schrott! Man spürt direkt wie das Blech sich biegt. Das stabilste an diesem Gartengerät ist der Stiel. Finger weg.
