Case Study Houses (Basic Art)

Many architects are familiar with the “case study” homes that were designed after WW2 through the mid-sixties, but few lay persons are acquainted with this exceptional program to foster a more forward leaning approach to contemporary design. Beautiful homes!

Great little coffee table book or bookshelf feature to have in our mid century modern home! Fun to flip through and read! Good balance of text and pictures!

They have some cool photos and interesting little architectural drawings- the book itself is super slim tho, I got it as a present so I was hoping for more of a substantial coffee table book vibe

Easy read, good brief history of Case Study project. Houses and architects are given credit due, and, as well, some recognition is given to fine architects of the midcentury era who were not invited to participate. Beautiful photos of built houses, also renderings. conceptuals not completed, floor plans. Very reasonable price..

I am a big fan of Pierre Koenig's style and his ability to create a beautiful design. I was interested in learning more about the case study program, and this book seemed like a bargain. It has sketches and drawings about each of the case study homes, even the ones that were never built. Also makes a nice coffee table book. I will be buying more of the Taschen books on architecture, art and design.

This was a present. The book arrived in a perfect condition and has high quality.
