Extremely easy to use and loved by my hamster.
This product is so easy to use. Definitely pet friendly for hamsters. Extremely soft. No odor. I use this inside a sandbox and sprinkle her food in there so it is a more natural way for hamsters to eat.

Great quality!
My hamster loves this coconut substrate, the quality is very good and really absorbs the pee smell (not like the sand that makes it worse). The only thing is the quantity for the price, I wish it has more product in the bag. Other than that I would recommend it.

Great for a dig box and boredom breaker
Our hamster loved a dig box filled with this. We used a cookie jar on it's side, set at an angle so she could crawl in and out easily. She dug and played in here a lot!

Great stuff but over-priced
This is very similar to Eco Earth Loose Coconut Fiber Substrate by Zoo Med. I prefer the quality of this Coco Peat by Niteangel because when I run my hands through each, the Eco Earth leaves noticeably more dust on my fingers. However, the regular price of an 8 quart (8.8 L) Eco Earth at the pet store is $10.99 while this 4 L bag of Coco Peat is $8.99 here on Amazon. And as I'm writing this Eco Earth is on sale for $4.99 at Petsmart. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for the better quality but I'm not sure the current price is worth it.

Higher price, better quality
Price per bag is pretty expensive but my hamsters are spoiled so I don't mind :). Its softer, low to no dust and mixed coconut fiber so its so soft! If you want to save a few buck, you can buy eco-earth but compared to the two, I would still buy the niteangel one. The bag from niteangel is already ready to use so no disinfecting or drying time compared to eco earth and softer, less dust than eco earth. If you have the budget, I recommend this enrichment for your hamsters. Also niteangel is awesome and one of the best small animal stores on amazon! Never disappoints!

Hamster sneezing!!
My hamster loved it but it was so dusty, she could not stop sneezing, it was so sad. Now after removing it, she stopt sneezing and feeling itchy. Overpriced aswell... big waste of money

Bag arrived mostly empty
I received my order today, but I’m very disappointed with the amount of product in the bag. The product is advertised as 4 liters, and the listing photos show the bag looking almost full. However, the bag I received is only filled to around one third. The coco peat is also already fluffy and not compressed, so the difference cannot really be explained by expansion after opening. Because of this, the product feels very misleading compared to the listing images and description. Considering the high price, I do not feel that the amount I received matches what was advertised. Otherwise it’s pretty good quality and I will use it for my hamster.
