Could not be happier.
I was looking for a easy-to-use and relatively cheap Wifi camera to use as puppy cam. I never used a similar product before (many years ago I helped my dad installing an ip cam using a PC set up and it was absolutely a pain), so I was a bit doubtful even after reading people's answers to my inquiry on how easy the set up would be. Turned out it was as easy as it can be: a smart phone's app and an included ethernet cable (to hook the camera up to the router for the initial setup) were all I needed. The graphics are great when viewing with the smartphone, and the app is very simple to use. Similar to other reviewers' opinions on the 2-way sounds though: receiving the environmental sound (i.e. listening) works really well, but speaking through the camera hardly works at all, like very choppy and half of the time it doesn't go through. Not a deal breaker for me at all since I mainly use the cam to watch the puppy when I'm out of the house (or too lazy to get up from the living room couch). Do keep this shortcoming in mind though if you are looking for a more functional 2-way sound function. Besides that, night vision function works so much better than I expected, and motion detection / sending picture alarm work great too. I can double the puppy cam as a simple house security camera too, which is a pleasant surprise. Long story short: I love the product so much I ended up buying two more the same day I installed the first one. Highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced IP camera which may not offer the absolute HD graphics or sound-output, but is truly practical in a normal household setting.

Best IP WIFI camera. Best performance.
Best camera! I own several IP cameras because I was curious to see the differences among them. I bought this FDT camera because of the price which was less expensive than my other similar functionality cameras. In the past I was wrong in mind that the higher the price the better the product the more the functionality. After I bought this FDT, first, I must say this camera provided the best clear installation instructions. It only took me several minutes to install without having to call tech support. After several weeks experiences, I am surprised to see this camera quality is stable and high in HD image. The WIFI is alway on and the monitoring performs well. I have unplugged and re-positioned this camera in different rooms, each time it plug and play, runs without haveing to reset. Some other cameras occassionally gave me some trouble. This camera has the same functionality as the other more expensive cameras. After I download FDT app, it does not require my email id password, it does not require me to log in each time or asking me to store recording data on the cloud drive. I have the FDT app on my iphone, ipad, and an android phone. they all performs. I inserted a SD card (64GB), that sufficient for me to keep the live and alarm recording for me to playback. So far I have not found any disadvantages on this camera.

Solid camera with solid features and slightly confusing documentation.
Deciding on this camera was another dizzying research project, so great is the number of similar devices out there. In the end, the price and solid feature set made me select the FDT 720, and I think it was a good choice. I did not try out any of the advanced features such as email forwarding, but as for basic setup and ease of use, I can say that I had this camera up and running within minutes of opening the box. You hook it up to your Wifi router (initial setup must be done with the included Ethernet cable, subsequent placements can be done entirely through wireless connectivity), download the smartphone app, and add the camera to your home network. One important detail and a possible hitch that is not so obvious: you can ONLY change the password when setting up through the app, if you want to assign a different username (and you should), you must use the web browser interface to do so. That, in turn, could not be simpler: look up the IP address assigned to your camera in the settings for the phone app and bookmark it in your browser. Done! Multiple phones and browsers can view and operate the camera simultaneously. There may be slight delays when doing so over a cellular connection, but you can view the camera wherever you are as long as your phone has some sort of signal. The image quality is not super sharp, and the zoom is fairly grainy, but you can see what matters. The night vision is exceptionally good. I found the audio to be quite clear, and the two-way communication also worked well for us. One minus is the confusing documentation where the required software is concerned, especially if you're a Mac user: the Apple version is included on a mini-CD, but who still has the kind of drive that can stomach these? When I tried the Mac download link on the manufacturer's web site, it delivered the PC version, so that's no good. BUT: You don't need to jump through any of these hoops. As stated above, all you need is the IP address of your camera, which you can easily look up in the app, and you're good. It's hardly intuitive, however, and for the time I wasted fiddling with software I didn't actually need, one star less.

Hot garbage!
FDT 720P HD WiFi Pan/Tilt IP Camera (1.0 Megapixel) Indoor Wireless Security Camera FD7901 (Black), Plug & Play, Two-Way Audio & Nightvision These cameras are junk! I purchased this camera based on its mostly good reviews, but at this point, I have to question some as either being bogus, or I had the worst luck ever when I purchased my FDT 720P camera(s). For the record, I wanted just one of these cameras to replace an old Foscam that finally died. Due to issues I have purchased two but am keeping only one. Read on... The first one I'm sending back as right out of the box night vision did not work! The LEDs for night vision do not power on, no matter the settings. Because of Amazon's awesome return policy, I purchased a 2nd FDT so at least I had a working camera (albeit without night vision) while I was waiting for the new FDT to be delivered. The second camera comes and night vision works! Yay! But... The picture quality was horrendous! I couldn't tell any difference between 640x480 and 1280x720! It was literally that bad! I played with the settings for a while, but I was unable to fix it. So, figuring I was going to send it back anyway, I took a chance and tried turning the camera lens (knowing this focuses Foscam cameras). After playing with the focus for a while, I was able to get it to look good. I have to assume that it was never calibrated correctly from the factory as there's no way the lens moved during shipping! The next issue? Both cameras came with firmware version V7.3.11.1.1. The newest on FDT's website is V7.1.4.1.14. Neither camera would take the update. Tried two different computers and three different web browsers. No errors, the firmware appears to update, but when you get redirected back to the login page after the "update" is complete, the camera still has the same firmware! Reboot? Same firmware version! Not sure if this is because the 7.3.11.1.1 version is actually newer than the 7.1.4.1.14 they have on their website and somehow my cameras magically came with a firmware version newer than they provide to customers?!? This is totally unacceptable! Two cameras ordered, two cameras defective! WORST quality assurance EVER! NEVER again FDT! I will keep the 2nd camera only because I was able to fix it, but a customer should not have to diagnose and fix a product right out of the box! NOTE: This review is ONLY a reflection of the FDT cameras, NOT a review of Amazon nor the 3rd party vendors (fulfilled by Amazon) that I purchased the cameras from.

Liked the camera
Liked the camera, but access options limited The camera itself seemed well made, operated smoothly and quietly and quality of video was fine. The P2P software connected easily with their app I downloaded to my iPhone and I was able to access the camera locally and remotely. However, I found their app limited and the controls hard to use and wanted to also have access with a browser. I was able to get to the camera through Safari on my iMac locally, but not remotely even after messing with port forwarding for quit a while. I could log into the camera, but no video. I have two other IP Foscams I that I port forwarded successfully. No other browser worked locally, even IE which just repeatedly asked for the plug in over and over. Safari on the iPhone and iPad did not work either. I regularly access the two Foscams from my iPhone with a third party app called Foscam Surveillance Pro, but could not find any other third party apps that supported FDT. So I reluctantly returned the FDT 720P HD and ordered another Foscam. I was wanting to move away from Foscam because of their poor support and software, but running a mixed camera network where you can monitor all cameras from the app seems impossible.

Easy out of the box setup
Easy out of the box setup. I did not use the app, just plugged into my router, found IP via modem and typed into my web browser, and added wifi connection credentials. That was it. No hidden junk in between, no mandatory cloud service, true full access out of the box. Easily added to "Blue Iris" with full Pan/Tilt usability and other functionality, though I must say the control interface and recording ability via the web browser interface were easy to use and clean looking as well. No zoom with this camera, just letting you know, so if you do use your program/browser to zoom it will not be 720P, but other than that great quality picture. Camera is a solid build, high quality feel and usage. The motor that typically can be loud on other cameras when rotating on this model is surprisingly silent. Picture quality does not change when switching to IR, although you can hear a quick "snap" soud when it is switching over. Overall, for the price I believe this is a superior camera model with great hardware and easy usage that is comparable to similar $120+ competitors. The only complaint I can come up with, and this is just me being nit picky, was the wifi antenna felt a little flimsy and was hard to get it to stay in one positition especially when mounting to the wall or ceiling. Other than that, A+!

Nice camera -- BUT!
.I have had the FD7901W/B for a while now. It is basically a good camera. Easy setup. Very good quality picture. Accessable from anywhere I can get WiFI. Produces AVI files on the SD card that are really good for viewing on my PC. I (tried) to use it to monitor the front walk leading up to my front door. Even at night with street lights on, the picture is acceptible (without IR - IR does not work through a window). However, since my purpose for the camera was to monitor anyone coming to my front door, I wanted specific areas of the view to since motion only in those two areas. IT DID NOT WORK! I set up the motion sincing and set the "Sincing Schedule" for 24/7 and time duration of 15sec. I disabled the "Timed Schedule'. BUT, the camera records all the time with no motion at all. So, for my purpose the camera is a paper wait. If is wanted to monitor 24/7 without sincing it would work pretty well.

Very good compared to more expensive 720p Foscam models
This camera is a direct competitor vs the Foscam FI9821P & FI9821W 720P pan tilt IP WiFi cameras. I own 2x FI9821P (v2) and one FI9821W. Those cameras cost around $60 back in 2015 when I got them. They still sell for around that. Compared to the Foscam cameras, the FDT is an almost exact copy in it's design, packaging and function. It is 720p, pan tilt, supports WiFi and Ehernet, supports ONVIF, RTSP over TCP and can be port forwarded to be accessed remotely. This camera works on iSpy, the open source Windows app that turns cheap pan tilt cameras like these into object tracking cameras. This camera also works on the Android and iOS app Tiny Cam monitor which allows for remote viewing on phones. The main improvement of this camera vs the Foscam cameras is the field of view. This camera is probably close to 100 degrees while the Foscam is around 70 degrees. I can see far more with the FDT camera and it is cheaper. I am very likely going to buy a few more of these and might try out some of the higher end higher resolution models as well.
