Fabulous little fryer
I purchased this item for my husband (who loves to cook) for Christmas. He was delighted with the gift and the whole family reaps the rewards of this being in our kitchen. The quality of this item is great. It has a nice weight to it. It's easy to use and comes with a thermometer so that you know exactly when to add your items to cook them perfectly. It also holds a lot more food than it appears that it would. We have had no issues with oil leaking and have used it repeatedly. I would absolutely recommend purchasing this if you are considering.

Great little fry pot
This has been a great little pot so far. I've used it many times for both frying and for making soups and rice. This is a smaller size so it fits perfectly on a small burner and heats up quickly and evenly. The overall finish is great, with a great non-stick coating inside the pot. The lid is a great touch, allowing you to cool and drain freshly fried foods while still cooking. There is also a feature on the lid to allow for steam builup to get trapped and not fall back intot he pot of hot oil. This prevents hot splashes and boil overs from the hot oil. Only issue I've had, which is minor at best would be the themometer, it does its job of telling the tempereature, but it tends to get steam buildup in the glass and can be hard to remove or to see the temperature while you're cooking.

No Splash Pan
This is a great pot except it scratches easily and scratches can affect the nonstick quality. It is made of carbon steel and is thin and lightweight I cooked breaded eggplant one day and breaded cauliflower the next. Both cooked perfectly. I used a silicone spatula to turn the vegetables but needed a fork to turn a few smaller pieces of cauliflower which caused small scratches. The lid has a useful drain rack, the green color is beautiful and the 10โ pan is perfect for two to four people. It is easy to clean. The best part of this pan is that the oil stays inside the pan and not on the stove surface.

More convenient than a dedicated deep-fryer, and the lid is amazing
I deep-fry a lot of things at home. I've used a wok, an iron skillet, a legless dutch oven, and even a big, dedicated deep-fry appliance. This little tempura pot is easily my favorite. It's perfect for small batches of things, like a couple of servings of French fries, or maybe a half-dozen tempura shrimp at a time. It works just fine with my induction burner, and the thermometer makes it very easy to see when the oil is ready. The pot is much lighter-weight than I expected, but it retains heat well, and seems very solidly constructed. Some caveats: 1) The rim of the lid, which does a fine job of preventing splatters, also makes it difficult to lift things from the oil without a proper right-angle tempura ladle. 2) A ladle is not the right tool for lifting things from the draining rack. Get some tongs. 3) The handles get hot. Use mitts or other hand protection if you need to scoot it around. 4) The care instructions suggest that this isn't really dishwasher-safe. The thermometer is definitely NOT to be immersed in water. I don't see any of these as drawbacks. I'm accustomed to hand-washing the stuff I deep-fry with, and I don't mind needing special utensils for certain tasks. I should point out that the instructions are not particularly well translated into English, and they're full of warnings which kind of amount to "DEEP FRYING IS DANGEROUS." Which, of course, it is. This is not a foolproof device. You can set fire to your whole kitchen with it if you use it incorrectly, so, y'know, don't do that.

Nice deep frying pan
My daughter likes to deep fry a few foods. I don't like deep fried food at all, so she usually makes just a few of each item. I initially got a small deep fryer, but the small ones are horrible to keep clean. She stopped using that and started deep frying in our nice non-stick pans. I was not a fan on this. So - enter this pan. It's got a nice shape to keep the oil from splattering out. The lid with a drain rack is awesome for letting some of the oil drip off before plating. I don't know if she uses the thermometer or not, but it wasn't hard to find the right stove temperature setting to make this just right. The only complaint we have is the pins on the top hinge that allows the top to fold up don't fit well. At least half of the time when we go to open the top, it just comes off. That's the only thing I'd change about it. Otherwise it's a great size for a single person's meal - or maybe 2, it's pretty, has a great draining rack, and is easy to use.

Outstanding
Just used it and I am blown away how it holds the temperature steady better than thicker heavier pots.

Have to return it
Disappointed about the quality. Thin and light pot. Coating inside comes out. Some scratches outside.
