Whynter BBR-801BG Built Beverage Refrigerator and Cooler Mini Fridge with Glass Door with Lock, 3.0 Cubic Feet, Black, 100

Nice looking, super easy to install, works great. But be aware of its size and location. It is VERY deep (a good thing) but VERY low, as required by its design. So, while you have a great deal of room, some of it is borderline unusable. If you use the bottom shelf for wine bottles, problem solved. But if you use it for individual cans, they will go so far back that it requires yoga-like moves to get low enough to even see them, much less retrieve them. Somebody help me up......

It worked well for a little while. We bought it in July of 2018 and after having it for 11 months it stopped working. We contacted tech support and were able to take it apart and fix it. 11 months later it started blowing warm air again. Tech support want able to help us fix it. They said we had to send it in for the compressor to be fixed. So we bought a $500 refrigerator that broke down and needed to be repaired twice within 2 years. It would have cost $200 for us to send it in to be fixed. Never buying this brand again.

So far so good. Seems to run a little louder than my last one and the compressor seems to kick on more (maybe I notice it more because it is louder) so it may not be as decently insulated.. My previous Danby unit didn't have a digital thermometer so I'm not sure if I set it higher than 43 degrees which is the highest this will go. For workout drinks we don't need it very cold and I'd rather save the compressor. But it is what it is. I have not tried to see if it can keep 38 degrees. You are supposed to be able to set the light to automatic but in trying all I ended up doing is changing it to celsius. I will have to try again but I think separate buttons for F/C and light mode would have been very useful.

Update, 5 years later and its still working flawlessly. If it ever does quit on us we will replace it with the same model. We built this into our kitchen island. It's absolutely perfect, holds temperature perfectly, extremely quiet. Its a smaller beverage cooler, but holds a lot! Very happy with this purchase.

Do you like being woken in the middle of the night by beeping? Do you like being told to do wiring fixes by yourself? Do you like paying for shipping to California to get it fixed after 2 months? This is the beverage refrigerator for you! Within days of installation, our refrigerator showed an error message EH and makes loud beeping noises (sometimes at 4am - joy!). We have to manually switch it off and wait a while. We raised this with Whynter. They sent multiple different technical instructions for diagnosing the problem (including open the casing and adjusting the wiring!). Nothing fixed it. And then after two months (which can easily go by while they ship you new wires to install etc), the customer has to pay to ship the fridge to California for repair. BUYER BEWARE. I wish we shopped at a physical store where I could return this beeping expensive nuisance.

Looks nice, cools well, very quiet... Excellent packaging... Double layers of packing... No damage... Happy customer!

Fits nicely in place of a 15" base cabinet. With what I like to call a "real compressor" it does keep beverages colder with less temperature fluctuation than a Danby cooler I also have. It runs noticeably louder than the 10 cu.ft. refrigerator it is sitting next to in the photo. I had a very difficult time reversing the door because the parts that you must move were more tightly screwed than any appliance I have ever dealt with intended for such modification; I came very close to returning it over that and would have otherwise given it 4 stars. FEB 2019 UPDATE: Now that we have been using this cooler for a couple of months I am reducing the stars to 2 because I keep finding the door open; the magnetic gasket is weak such that when even light force is applied when closing the door "bounces" back open. I tried the same with my Danby and the magnet holds the door shut even when substantial force is applied. If it were not too late to return this unit I would. MAR 2019 UPDATE: After another month of use, I keep trying to like this cooler. Re-leveling the unit by adjusting the feet such that the front is slightly higher than the back so far seems to have inclined the door to fall shut. ... In order to help someone else who may want to reverse the door, it has been suggested that heating the tight screws before removing them may have helped. Considering these work-arounds I am restoring my original 3 star rating.

Just as you will read from multiple other customer reviews, this Whynter BBR-801BG fridge has known problems to the manufacturer. The unit will "shut-off" and display "EH" error. The company sent me 3 replacement thermostats which i had to unscrew unit and replace myself -- none of them fixed the problem. This problem began a week after receiving the unit. I'm now having difficulty getting the fridge returned. UPS won't pick it up. i do not have the original packaging. This has been so frustrating. This was a more expensive fridge and i expected better results and service. PLEASE AVOID PURCHASING THIS MODEL FRIDGE!!!

A bit noisy, but the size is wonderful! Can't seem to adjust tempurture, but perhaps I am doing something wrong and need to read instructions.
