Complex Analysis: An Introduction

I'm not aware of any introduction to complex analysis like this one. The author believes you learn math by doing math and I couldn't agree more. So this is heavily oriented to computation. So you get a pencil and a pad of paper, roll up your sleeves, and learn how to actually use the theorems to compute things like nasty integrals and summation of series. The closest book to this one is probably the wildly successful Visual Complex Analysis by Needham. If you want to tackle a book like Ahlfors Complex Analysis I would recommend you do this first and also possibly Needham.

For this price tag I was expecting a lot more. This is a very basic intro to complex analysis. No discussion of branch points, riemann surfaces, or other useful things. Certainly not for engineers or scientists. Fork up a little bit more money and buy a real textbook for complex variables. This one is very poor.
