Q: Does the lock use the home WiFi or is it solely based on Bluetooth?

The device itself is Bluetooth but you can get the hub add on and connect it to the Wi-Fi so you can open the lock from anywhere

Q: What is the width of the main unit on the inside? Our door handle is very close to the frame - most smart locks are too big to open the door!

Hi, The diameter of the inner knob is 47mm. You will need 23/24mm next to the keyhole to make the Bold fit. Best, Karim

Its a matter of trial and error specially with bold Their measurements are inaccurate. I tried from the smallest SX35, 45 and even 55. It’s difficult as with bold its only one side you can adjust. I ended up returning all of them.
