FUNCTIONALITY: as you age you’ve cooked for so long - meal prep becomes arduous. Years ago I began using the 11inch H x 8 in W rolls that were 25ft,50Ft,100ft and to make my own bags(4in W X 5.5in H). Well that too gets arduous once done long enough. Now, I buy these and I cut down the height 3” They’re great for making portion meals of approx 8-12oz to freeze a meal in it’s entirety (bag by bag) or the remainder of what’s left in a meal via portion size bags. We reach into the freezer that has various meals in the portion bags inside gallon ziploc bags. We warm each frozen portion in hot water day of (3-7mins is enough typically to place contents into a pan or pot for reheat. We also will leave a portion bag overnight in fridge day before - and voila instant base for a meal or a meal in itself the next day . Good value! Works good preserving tunas and white fishes. The bags are has good thickness and seal very well. We live in Costa Rica and this bags works excellent.

Up until getting these bags I was always of the mind that rolls were the cheapest way to go. That is no longer the case as these have so many bags for a fairly cheap price. The part I also didn't think about before is this saves me so much time and creates less waste then trying to size my own since these come in several different sizes. Packaging 1lb squares of hamburgers time was cut in half by using these. That isn't a guess because I was doing it with a roll before getting these. All bags held and are still holding a vacuum well with no leaks and no frost bite. Follow the advise of others and have the rough side on the bottom when sealing. The will sit better in the freezer without sliding and also feel like they go the proper vacuum better.

Very convenient, just the right size for small portions. Saves time, less cutting rolls to make bags. Also great quality, I will be ordering again.

They are strong bags. I just wish they did not have the brand name and logo on them. I thought they were clear bags.

Alexa told me these bags are compatible with the Foods Saver and she was right. This pint sized bag is perfect for 1-2 servings. Also great for frozen cubes of pesto or mint, or chicken broth. It keeps things from freezer burn, and keeps frozen chicken thighs from oozing in the fridge when defrosting. The best thing is you can microwave in the bags (cut a little vent before you do) like rice or beans, or soup or broth. Freezing marinara in cubes and then sealing the cubes makes a super easy and fast meal for later. I batch poach chicken and use these bags for 3/4 cup portions to freeze and use later for chicken salad. Less expensive than the brand bags.

I have a compact vacuum sealer and these are the perfect replacement bags. The two sizes come in very handy for getting the right portions in the freezer. They are flat on one side and dimpled on the other. I understand this is the right setup for getting the air out. They feel thick, fit the small sealer perfectly and seal tightly to keep the air out. I've had no problems with chicken parts, ground beef and pork chops. I popped the box open wrong. If I did it right it would have a convenient way to pull the bags out. I should have looked before I cut the bottom open. A nice design touch that I missed. These bags are on my go-to list.

Bags would not seal and air was not removed. Very disappointed in the InstaSeal and the bags bought separately. Expensive bags.
