Very solid easy to install lock. Heavy duty this was easy to install, it fit the doorframe perfectly and it functions as it should. Great lock, great price!

Good quality

This replaced a stainless steel Segal lock that looked same as this one. The four long screws went over the old Segal at exactly the same positions, but the height of this new lock is a little shorter than the old one, so there is a little space between the door and the base of this lock. It is not a perfect fit but I use this lock for added security only, I do not use the keys that came with it, as this door has another main lock with key. I also had to use my old strike plate or called latch?, because the strike plate/latch that came with this lock is a 90 degree L-shaped one that does not fit over my door frame/molding which angles inward, not 90 degrees. Make sure to ask for the proper strike plate/latch before ordering. So, I have a brass colored lock with a steel colored receiving end latch; alittle funny looking but I don't want to bother with the return right now because the lock works just fine. I wish they had advertise which strike plate they were selling to begin with though, otherwise the lock is very good, smooth, quiet and very affordable.

Replaced an old, same style, one side keyed lock with inside knob lock on a door with upper glass. Easy to install, great instructions.

I had a need to pass local home inspection and my 35+ year old double cylinder lock wouldn't pass. So, I bought this with the hope I could just replace the inside piece and leave the other older existing parts installed. Got the lock, unscrewed four screws that hold the lock in place and viola, it fit perfectly! Old key and strike mechanism were fine to work with the new inside lock that now has a code compliant knob to lock and unlock the door. Couldn't be happier!

My Dad installed this lock at least 20 years ago. It finally quit working. The cylinder would turn but the locking mechanism would not engage. It was not available locally at the 3 places I checked so I went to Amazon to get it. It is just like the old one and fits exactly. This made it easy for me to install with no problems. The door is 70 years old. If this new lock quits working, I will probably have to replace the door instead of the lock. Glad I found it on Amazon, and really glad the style has not changed since my Dad bought the first one. Recommend it for durability and safety. If you are installing it on a door that has never had a lock like this, it will be more complicated. I am not that skilled. The instruction are very clear and explain how to do it, and templates are included.
