Brushed Mixing Bowl, 2.5-Quart, Stainless Steel

I am so glad I bought this. Very good quality. I can use it for so many things. Takes the place of 3 other bowls I used to use for this and that. Could even use to make a large salad and put on the dinner table. Mostly I use for making various baked treats or dry bread ingredients. It's a great buy!

It's got a nice side slope to make it easy to hand-mix batters; it's a great size for serving salads; a good size for a single or double batch of rising bread dough. The material is stainless, which is durable, easy to clean and sterilize, and useful if you need to make it kosher. This was purchased for a person who is establishing a first-time kitchen equipment collection. It's a basic, fundamental size. If you are only searching for one basic mixing bowl, this could be a great choice if the price is right for you.

I ordered one of these "one quart" bowls via Amazon two days ago, to replace a one quart plastic bowl that had gotten very stained; that older plastic bowl holds exactly one quart (32 oz.) when filled to the brim. The new bowl arrived today, and as soon as I opened the package, I noticed that the new bowl was nowhere near one quart in volume; it appeared to be one half the size of the old plastic bowl that it was intended to replace. So, being a scientist and an engineer, I took it into the kitchen and performed an incredibly exacting technical task: I measured its volume using a measuring cup, and it turned out that this little "one quart" bowl holds a bit over 23 ounces before overflowing. Thus, it is a 1.35 pint capacity bowl, and not a 1 quart bowl! Yet, when I check the label on the bottom of this bowl, it clearly reads "1 QUART", and my Amazon order page confirms that I ordered a one quart bowl! I would rate this product zero stars if I could! Unfortunately, it is simply not worth the effort, time and hassle of returning it to Amazon. I will keep it and use it for a different application, and I will scrupulously avoid patronizing this manufacturer/seller for the rest of my life on Amazon!

This works as an excellent replacement for my Brinkmann's charcoal smoker 13" water pan which is no longer manufactured.

We wanted a smaller mixing bowl and this is perfect
