Purrrfect Feline Food
I feed my cat Stashu the dry grain free Halo food too! The combination of the Halo Wet & Dry Grain Free food is wonderful!!! Stashu used to "Toot" all the time, so much so it made you think he was stinky!! Our dog eats Halo dry food too, so I put Stashu on Halo brand and he no longer "Toots" like crazy ! Big improvement and he absolutely loves it! I feed him the wet Halo food to help keep his "Urinary Tract" healthy and he likes dry food so I give him a little of the Halo Grain Free dry food every day too. He had no adverse reaction to switching brands at all (he was a stray cat I took in - I am so lucky!) I'm so happy I found a Natural, Healthy GRAIN FREE cat food for him. Cats do not eat grains, they are carnivores and require high protein diets. I highly recommend this product for all feline lovers. I feel good feeding this to Stashu and he is mroe than happpy and healthy eating it!

I love feeding Halo to my cats. My cats love that I feed them Halo.
I love, love, love this food. I have a diabetic cat and have switched to a wet food diet. The ingredients in this food is high quality. When I contacted the company (which is in Florida, which I love) to get the nutrition values to find out if it was appropriate for my diabetic kitty they were prompt in their reply. Not only did they send me what I asked for (carb values on chicken pate) they sent me the entire nutritional analysis for each flavor of cat food! One cat will gobble the chicken right up, the other will nibble. It has some visual veggies (very soft and mushy, same texture as pate basically). Both are HUGE fans of the salmon flavor and the whitefish. The second and third ingredient on the fish pates is chicken and chicken liver, so I am comfortable feeding them those on a daily basis.

Cats love it, just wish it didn't have the carrageenan
First, let me say that I have never obsessed over my consumer choices more than I have over cat food. I'm always searching for wet cat food that is affordable, low carb, high quality ingredients... but most importantly, that my cats will eat (and do well on). Originally when I decided to switch my cats entirely to wet food, I fed them Evo 95% Cat/Kitten food. They loved it and it worked great, but for some reason it gave one of my kitties diarrhea. Then I switched to Wellness Core, which they also did very well on, but WOW... the price. I couldn't handle it. Finally I ended up buying Halo Spot's Pate and they LOVED it. Plus they were doing great on it - solid stools, shiny fur, and feeling full after meals (no begging for more food!) I fed it to them for months and they were doing well, but the downside that bothered me was the fact that it isn't available in 13 oz cans and is therefore a little pricey. So when I found Innova canned food, I tried to switch. My cats weren't crazy about it, but they would eat it eventually and I bought a case so I kept trying to feed it to them. Until I realized that one of my cat was losing hair on his face (!!!) which is a common sign of a food allergy. So long story short... we are back with Spot's Pate and the kitties are happier and everybody has all of their fur. Looks like we are sticking with it. Only downside is that I wish they used less veggies in it (cats! don't! need! vegetables!) and I wish they didn't use carrageenan. I may still attempt a switch to a food that is carageenan free (before my obsessive self eventually switches them to an all-raw diet).

5-star product, 1-star supplier. Buy Local Instead!
I love this product, and so does our cat. But let me tell you about the most recent delivery, which prompted me to cancel my "Subscribe & Save" to this product and vow to buy it at the local pet food store (which I am glad happens to carry it, but if it didn't, I'd try to find a different online retailer from which to purchase it). The latest box of it arrived today, and every single can (12) is dented. Some of them are badly dented. Some are dented in multiple places, even! The packaging was fine -- this did not happen in shipping. The position of the dents and the undamaged packaging led to the inevitable conclusion that these items were this badly damaged before they were packaged. The fact that they are ALL damaged, and the fact that some of them are SO badly damaged, again leads to the inescapable conclusion that the person who packed these items did so knowing full well that they were damaged. Let me also note, although I am sure that for most people reading this it will be something that you already well know, that a damaged can is not the same as, say, a chipped ashtray. A can with a serious dent can cause botulism to breed. Some of the dents are small, but some of them are serious enough that there's no way they can be used, for this reason. Our kitty is already sick, and this is the food he's been eating for awhile. Now I suddenly am in the position of hunting through these cans to find the few that are usable, to get us through until Monday when the pet store is open, so that I don't have to change his diet abruptly (if you have ever had a cat, let alone a sick cat, you'll know what I mean about how hard that is on them). In the end, Amazon ended up giving me a little store credit, but it was like pulling teeth to get that (think: over an hour on chat with multiple customer service people). I don't know whether this was done by an inept packing clerk, but I suspect it is bigger than that. I'm not buying this again, nor any other canned goods from Amazon. I also realize that the world's largest online retailer does not have to do anything for me. It won't affect them at all. If this were a real store, the proprietors would know me (given that I've been shopping here quite a bit, for years) and would be horrified at this, and would have done something immediately to make it up to me. It wouldn't have taken an hour, it would have taken 15 seconds. That's how it is with a real store. I ended up canceling ALL my "Subscribe & Save" items and vowing to shop local as much as possible. And it will help my local economy, as well. So, Amazon, that's what you get for sending me products you knew full well could kill my cat. The cat is sitting here next to me as I type this, and when I wrote that last sentence, he started purring like crazy. Coincidence?

Cats wouldn’t eat it.
I selected this brand because of the ingredients. My inside cats would have nothing to do with it so I fed it to the outside cats. They ate it and I added it over some dry cat food. My inside cats are very selective when it comes to their food. They will only eat pate and mostly Friskies. I wanted them to have a larger selection of flavors so I tried Halo. I kept trying to get them to eat some of the Halo brand, but they would eat a few bites and quit eating. I left it out because they always came back and finished their breakfast or supper, but they didn’t eat any more of this cat food. Maybe if I had started feeding them this brand of cat food from the time they were big enough to start eating they probably would have liked it. The outside cats ate it right up and loved it. I ordered a case of three different brands hoping they would like them. Most of the flavors they like from Friskies are not available now and haven’t been for several months so I was trying to find a substitution for their favorite flavors. I would recommend this brand of cat food if the cats aren’t too picky about their food.

Ground Whitefish Pate to Ground Chicken Pate
This review was originally written for the Halo Ground Whitefish Pate. All Halo cat food both wet and dry is super high quality! My kitten Smarty Pants was eating half a can of the Whitefish Pate twice a day, and we leave dry Spots Stew Wild Salmon For Indoor Cats out 24/7. My 7 year old only eats the dry and they both love the dry as well. Wet food is great for cats since it gives them extra fluids & keeps them hydrated, especially if they are not big water drinkers. Smarty loved the whitefish pate. I wrote to Amazon in hopes of getting it added to the Subscribe & Save option. For some reason that flavor is not part of that option. However, one downfall of the Whitefish Pate flavor is the resulting very offensive litter box odor. Luckily, I had a few cans of this Ground Chicken Pate and after she tried it, does seem to love it as much as the whitefish. So I took advantage of changing to this Ground Chicken Pate instead. Now, I can use the S&S option, the litter box issue has improved and kitty and we are all very happy! Bottom line is all flavors/types of Halo are great products.

Helped kitty with colitis
I had a foster cat who had chronic bloody and liquid stool for several months. He was only a few months old when this occurred and we medicated him with every dewormer, antibiotic, and probiotics available. A specialist determined he had colitis and we needed a higher fiber or a low-residue diet. We tried several prescription and non-prescription brands and this was the only brand that kitty would eat that improved his stool. His stool firmed up and the blood seemed to disappear. This is a good choice when trying to find food for a sensitive stomach. However, after months of using this product a different vet said there are new studies coming out stating grain-free diet is no longer good for our pets. Our pets should have some grain in it. Please talk to your vet to find the right choice for your pet.
