Whispers of Hope: 10 Weeks of Devotional Prayer

A friend shared this devotional with me and I am so grateful she did! I am not much of a reader and find myself distracted if a book can't keep my attention. I am also not someone with a great amount of self discipline so tend to start a devotional study and fall away from it after a while. Whispers of Hope was hands down, the best devotional I have ever done. Every morning I made my coffee and felt excited to jump in to that day's study. It was thought provoking, it opened up my heart to new hope and God's promises for my life. It was relevant to everyday life and spoke to my heart. It got me journaling my prayers which has now become something I love to do. And Beth Moore is a phenomenal writer. She shows her human side with humor and a realness that made me feel close to her. And her wisdom into the Bible and of spiritual matters is a gift! As I drew near the end of my 10th week and the book was almost over, I felt sad. I may start over and read it again...it's really that wonderful! Thank you Beth, for your heart for God and for guiding me down a path to Jesus is a new and refreshing way. I am truly grateful.

This devotional is everything that I needed. I've used lots of devotionals over the years, and this is excellent. It's very much centered on Biblical teaching rather than stories, which makes it so much deeper than the trite, anecdotal devotionals that are out there. It does challenge your walk with Christ, but it doesn't kick you in the pants with a condescending tone, either. I've found it to be very encouraging! Here is how I use this devotional: 1. I read the suggested scripture reading for the day. 2. I read the devotional teaching. 3. I fill in the P.R.A.I.S.E. notes section. 4. I got back over my notes and literally pray them out. This process takes me roughly 15-20 minutes, depending upon how much I meditate on the scripture, or how groggy I am in the morning! I have found the PRAISE notes section to be so helpful in structuring my prayer life. The "Repentance" section has been especially important, because there is always something we can repent for. It has really helped me to see the things in my life that are opposed to God and His Word. The "Equipping" portion of the prayer is also vital. I am a stay at home mom of three boys, so I MUST be filled with the Holy Spirit to handle whatever they throw at me. I would recommend this to any believer who is serious about following Jesus and already has a solid foundation in Him. It's wonderful, and it's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, Beth Moore!

Whispers of Hope 10 Weeks of Devotional Prayer by Beth Moore is a powerful way to jump-start or reboot your prayer life. This book includes 70 days of focused prayer, following the P.R.A.I.S.E. method. Each morning begins with Praise, Repentance, Acknowledgement, Intercession, Supplication for self and Equipping. Beth Moore teaches her powerful prayer method and then leads readers through 70 days of devotional prayer. When you receive the book you will notice the pages are "antiqued" with a parchment like edge, and it's simply gorgeous. The lines for devotional writing are very wide-ruled... and at first I thought "Not enough space!" Then as I journaled it became clear this space was so I would narrow my focus on the prayer and listen to what God is telling me...not what "I am telling God." Each of the daily prayers begins with a scripture verse and reading. Then Beth Moore shares her commentary on the scripture and the application of the verse to modern living. Almost every page in the book is quote worthy! For example, Beth Moore writes: "I'm certain of two things: prayerless lives are powerless lives, and prayerful lives are powerful lives." I shared this on Facebook and it went viral with 400 shares in just the first day. The basis of this book is that prayerful lives are powerful lives. So if you desire this for yourself, then I'd highly recommend the book. Also recommended as a gift for your friends...it's that awesome! From the book title, to the unique page edges and the loving words penned inside....it's sure to be a classic in any Christian library and a bestseller devotional.

This book is truly amazing. I feel likd I had been praying all my life and half of those prayers were fruitless because I had no idea how to pray with real purpose and strategy. I have bought this for 4 or 5 people since I read it in 2015 and I'm still buying and recommending it. You won't regret resting it!

This book change my life!!!! I wanted to start the journey of learning how to pray, but I did not know how and what to do when praying to the almighty God. Since the author-Beth Moore is a great teacher, I decided to give this book a try and I must say I am glad I did. The author made it so easy to learn how to have devotion. In the beginning it was very hard and I had missed a few days, than as I continue week by week, I was able to get more persistent and do my devotion in the morning. I was able to journal my prayers in the book and my conversation with God in the mornings made my day more peaceful and I was able to meditate on the scriptures read the whole day.

This is a great devotional, but it is time-consuming. If you're looking for a devotional to help you with your prayer life, this is great! You will learn how to pray more fervently and humbly. But if you're looking for a quick daily devotional, this is definitely not it. It requires you to look up scriptures and meditate on them while writing out your prayer. We all need to put our all into our walk with The Lord, and this is a great tool for the prayer part of that. But it wasn't easy to use right after having my second baby, so I haven't finished it.

I am on day #22 out of 70 in this devotional by master teacher Beth Moore and am appreciating it greatly. Each devotion starts of with a verse from that day's scripture reading passage, followed by Beth's insights. As always, I learn something from her bible knowledge and her wise reflections. Then, we are encouraged to use her PRAISE format to structure our prayer time with God: Praise, Repentance, Acknowledgement, Intercession, Supplication, and Equip. I journal this format as I pray and it has made me look very differently at my prayers. This will be a devotional I stick with, learn from, and my time with God is richer, more honest because of it. Amen ~ so be it.

I have purchased two of these books in the last few years and I still pray with the author's acronym for "praise" to remember to pray for several areas or topics as well ass others. It's a larger book with a canvas type cover amd thick pages. Writing in it turns out smooth. It's a joy to touch it.

This book shot my prayer life to the roof and was a tool that Yeshua used to ground me and secure in my day to day communion with Him. Thanks so much Beth for writing this book. I have bought this book so many times not just for myself but for friends and family. I have graduated from the book but I still use he format indicated in this book only this time I use a simple notebook. For anyone looking for a change in their prayer life, get he book. U will be forever grateful!!!

I brought this for my wife and she is so happy with it. The quality of the book is fantastic, the pages look like old parchment paper and the content is very well put together. It has changed her devotional and reflection time so positively. Highly recommend it as a personal addition and as a quality gift for someone else.

This is Beth at her best. She has been through so much in her own life she seems to instinctively know what others need. Bible based and carefully researched, this book will make you think, laugh and cry, but will ultimately lead you along the path you want to be on.

Easy format to develop your prayer-life. It is my favorite give away book. Great way to draw closer to God and draw hope and strength from Him. everyone should have this devotional book.
