Hat looks high quality, and fits great. Highly recommend for sun protection. Love that it it has a wide brim too, my ears get burnt if I’m wearing just a regular baseball hat to the beach. I look forward to using this on my trip to Brazil.

I 've been buying a lot of wide brim hats for sun protection. This is my 6th brand and this one is my favorite so far. I have a large head (size 7 3/4) and it fits comfortably. It has an elastic cord to tighten the hat if you need it so it should fit a lot of head sizes. The brim is stiffer than some I've tried, which I like. Some brims are too floppy and get wavy. This one seems like it will keep its shape longer. The cord that tightens under your chin is sewn into the hat so it's not removable unless you cut it off. I like that it's attached. Some hats have the chin cord attached with those little plastic buckle clips and they can break easily. The description said the brim would be 3.9". The one I got has a brim that is 3.75". A little smaller than advertised but not much. It's still a good brim and offers more sun protection than the hats with 3" brims. Most of the hats I've bought were shipped folded up to where they had 4 creases in the brim when you unpacked them. This hat was only folded once so it has only 2 creases in the brim. That's a good thing. This hat does have air holes in the crown for ventilation so keep that in mind if you are wearing it for sun protection. I would guess a little more sun can get through than a hat with no vent holes. This hat seems to have more color choices than most hats. I will try several more colors to see if the quality is the same from one hat to the next. I would recommend this hat if you are looking for sun protection and a good value.

Finally, a hat big enough for my head! I'm a small person with average height and a big head and had gotten used to jamming hats onto my head. This one works, even with my hoodie hood under it. I might have to add a more breathable fabric over the sweatband because it seems like it's synthetic and slightly irritates my forehead so far. Otherwise it's great! This hat works great in the rain too. I didn't buy it for beauty, but I think it looks fine. I like that it folds in half, too, for packing and storing between uses. I'm happy!

As others have mentioned, there is a chemical smell to the hats but I don't find it overly offensive. It's possibly from the treatment to make it water repellent.Probably putting it in front of a supply register if you have forced air heating and cooling will help dissipate the smell. I'm going to hang the two I bought in the basement at a forced air register to try to dissipate the smell. The crease through the sides of the hat does look strange when you first look at it but I found that it helps keep the back of the hat down so it covers your neck and if you're out in the rain, it may keep the rain from running down inside your shirt. As for hats of this type blowing off, put the chin strap behind your ears, then under your chin and tighten it to a comfortable position. It won't stop them from blowing around in high winds but it should help in lesser winds. The fit of the hat is very comfortable for me and I'm not much of a hat person but after some skin cancer surgery, I'm doing everything possible to minimize too many recurrances of the cancer. It's a shame I didn't take more precautions 70 years ago. I purchased two of these hats in different colors, a darker one for working in the yard and a lighter on for when I'm out walking and shooting still images and videos. Time will tell how durable the hats are and if there is a problem with the way the chin strap is fastened to the hat. Overall, for the price, I think the hat is fine and would recommend it.

I was not expecting to like this hat as much as I did. It is big and roomy in the head area, (either that or my head is small...LOL), but I liked that about it, as it made air pass though which helped to keep my head cool. I am in a very humid and hot environment, that sometimes can get breezy. I liked the chin tie which is big, not too big but flimsy, which would break easily in very strong wind. It's also flat which makes it lie against the body and not cut into the body if you have to secure it bit tighter if needed. I got the tan, which is nice and very neutral. If I had one bad thing to say about this hat, which is not the fault of the hat, is that when I go in to the store, I have to hold it in my hand if I take it off. I'm always afraid that while looking at an item, I'll put it down and forgot about it when I walk away. That being said, I will have to find a way to secure it to my body so I'll always have it. It really was worth the purchase. I have no regrets, and yes, would recommend it, highly.

Well made hat just way too large. How they can say one size fits all is beyond me.

Proved it was of good quality upon testing in hot sunny weather. Appearance wise it was great. It protects even the neck from sunburn due to larger size. Overall, there is value for money.
