Somewhere In Time

This music is so beautiful, and soul-stirring! I highly recommend this CD! This music can stir up your emotions, and it can touch your heart! It is so romantic, and compelling, and can sweep you away with profound, emotions of love, sadness, and joy! I love all the songs on the CD! Some of my favorite on this CD are the following: SOMEWHERE IN TIME THE OLD WOMAN A DAY TOGETHER RHAPSODY ON A THEME OF PAGANINI All the musicans, and composers did a excellant, and outstanding job, I loved the incredible, awesome sound. This is top quality! I loved it!

The score for Somewhere in Time is truely amazing. I think it is one of the best scores ever written. It stays with you long after you have seen the film. The music is perfect throughout the movie. Each scene has exactly the right musical background. The most moving, for me, is the short piece of music that is heard in the scene where an aged McKenna is returning to her hotel room having met Collier. I find it some of the most moving music I have ever heard in a film. For me, I can listen to the score and visualize the scene in my mind, remembering dialog and even remembering clothes that were worn at the time. I think it is partly due to the score that this film has remained so popular over the years since it was released. The score made the movie memorable. It should be in everyone's film soundtrack library.

Somewhere in Time is one of the greatest love stories every filmed. I love period films because, no matter when you watch them in the future, they are always timeless. Of course, there are a few scenes in "present day" that seem dated...but it's a classic. The music is some of the most beautiful, wistful and longing music every composed. Be prepared to hear a running theme that repeats and repeats...but I don't think you will mind at all. It's perfect!

Soothing, and soulful! A great soundtrack!

It is one of those got stuck in my head that I know I have to buy the CD, play it over and over again until it burns a hole and hoping by then it will get out of my head... lol. Beautiful music, every track, I only wish the recording is a little better, the level is too low, cannot turn up the volume too high.

When I saw the movie Somewhere In Time, many years ago, I thought the music was so beautiful but I didn't know that Amazon had music. Several years ago, I saw the movie on a TV channel on Valentine's Day. I was mesmerized over the music again. I looked and looked for a record shop to have his music but nothing. Someone at work told me to try Amazon, I asked, "What? Amazon has music?" I joined Amazon, and the rest is history. I sent for the DVD but I still didn't know who was the composer, until I researched before I received in the mail and wasn't surprised that it was John Barry. I love it.

Una grande colonna sonora di un grande compositore, John Barry, che insieme a John Williams e Jerry Goldsmith rappresenta il Gotha della musica da film americano del ventennio 70-80, che dà un grandissimo apporto al film nel costruire un'atmosfera struggente a questa splendida e impossibile storia d'amore che attraversa il tempo. Fra i tanti pezzi musicali si distinguono soprattutto il bellissimo tema principale "Somewhere in Time" e la classica "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" del compositore russo Serghej Rachmaninov, che s'inserisce splendidamente nel tessuto della romantica vicenda.

Music from one of my all time favourite films, starring the lovely Jane Seymour and ill-fated Christopher Reeves aka Superman.
