The Children's Illustrated Bible, Small Edition

What a nice Bible. As a senior adult I am pleased with the stories, the art work and in general how interesting the stories are written not only for children but for adults to enjoy. I am very impressed with the writing. I was brought up Catholic and was not exposed to much of the stories. I find these very interesting and informative for things I have missed. I highly recommend this book for enjoyment and knowledge.

Beautiful book has beautiful illustrations, perfect for my tween grandsons. They have been reading a children’s Bible and this version is now their reading level. There was a previous review that indicated the author did not read the book as there was a mistake. book. They wrote: The book tells after selling Joseph his brothers killed a young kid and dip Joseph's coat in that young kid's blood. That horrified my kids. They ask why they are so cruel to kill a young kid. Sad to know they did not know a “kid” is a was a baby goat, not a human child. I guess they didn’t bother to check the internet for the possible definition of kid. Oh, well. My grandsons love it and are reading it regularly. This makes me so happy and proud.

EXCELLENT BOOK. Great pictures. Easy to read font. Seems to be KJV from what I have read. Very well made. Keeps to God's word without diluting or minimizing what God has said and done. Doesn't use dumb-down language. Great opportunity to teach not only God's word but build my grandchilds vocabulary.

We got this for a little girl that we knew, and she didn’t have anyone who could regularly read with her. This picture bible has engaging pictures to go with the stories to help keep her attention, and draw her in to read the stories herself. I thought it was very nicely done.

I purchased this book in the large picture book size a number of years ago. Recently, I wanted to buy one for my little grandson and was excited to find it on Amazon. I looked through the pages and was assured it was the same book so I purchased it. When it arrived I was disappointed to find it was reduced in size to a bit smaller than a hard bound novel. The beautiful illustrations, depiction of ancient tools, maps, etc which were so wonderful in my book were reduced to make them and the text very small and hard to see all the detail. I love the book and would recommend purchasing it for anyone interested in the teaching children bible stories and relevant history and life style of the times, but make sure you purchase the book that is large, not this reduced sized edition.

If you are looking for a kids' Bible, stop looking and buy this one. It is impossible to be disappointed. All of the events of the Bible are divided into 1-3 page stories which are written for the elementary age child. The book is filled with engaging illustrations, photographs and maps. I let my 7 year old son take this book to church and read it during the sermon. This book would also be an invaluable resource for a Sunday School teacher. In my opinion DK publishing writes the best guide books on the market.

This children’s Bible was better than I expected. A lot of full color illustrations, easy to read and understand, and a hard cover. This was an outstanding Bible for the price. Your child will enjoy looking through this Bible because of the larger font and the great colorful illustrations.

I don't usually write reviews, but after getting this children's illustration bible, I thought I should write a review to recommend this book to those who are looking for a special book for their children. THIS is special! I love the way this book shows pictures of places where the stories were set. It makes bible stories much more interesting and enables me journey with the people in the history. Invaluable book!

I bought this book as a christening present for my grandson. He is far too young to appreciate it, but I loved it. Buy the larger version for children. I would seriously like the smaller version for myself. The stories are well written and the illustrations lovely, and there is a lot of background information. A good book for older children.

SO Nice book, simple language and Nice pictures.

This is a handy book that can be carried anywhere. Which seems to be the reason for the small font. The illustrations are beautiful and interest evoking. I think 8+ can read this. Even adults can read it. I always feel that illustrated Bibles are the perfect way to get a child to begin his or her own spiritual journey. And yes, the font is smaller than normal but I think children can read it. The book is small because of this and that's probably why it is not bulky.
