They're really not sponge, they are very absorbant gauze, and the compact size makes them ideal for around IVs or feeding tubes.

These are a nice smooth weave and are non-irritating on the skin. Just keep in mind that the 70 qty mentioned are 35 packs of 2, because the I.V. sponges are a double layer when you use them.
