I used to live in California, where falling leaves were pretty, and maybe a twice-a-year aerobic thing. Now I live in North Carolina, where falling leaves are an industry. Every year, a billion leaves fall here, and at least half land in my yard. This being The South, I hear those leaves must be removed pronto or I personally am driving down the value of real estate for miles around. That's a week-after-week, fall and spring, and summer for the more stubborn leaves, task. When we rake or blow, we end up with huge piles of leaves. You rake and pick up. Rake and pick up. Sweep and rake and pick up. And of course, with every pick up, you drop half of what you rake. But not with these leaf scoops - they not only pick up and grip firmly what you grab - they even pick up the leaf dirt and detritus. No more pushing leaves against a rake and lifting carefully into the yard waste (bonking your head with the rake handle) - these scoops, managed by my expert hands, do the job. I LOVE THEM. You can use them like leaf spatulas, scraping the leaves off your hedges and bushes with one, using the other to grip the result, then into the yard bag. Your hard-won plants aren't hurt by rakes, but are now mostly leaf bare, hooray! The leaf scoops also help tap down the yard waste in the bag, so you don't have to use your hands or a rake (which pulls out half of what you stuck in). I'm no longer standing in the yard after two hours of work, contemplating the futility of it all. (Now I just do that after confronting the laundry.) Best of all, the leaf scoops are one more tool between you and the leaves. Aside from all these amazingly beautiful trees, North Carolina is damp, and chock full of fungus, mold, turtles, lizards, toads, ticks, and huge bugs. Gloves are all well and good, but a nice sturdy piece of plastic between you and a reptile, or a pile of disgusting wet decaying leaves all stuck together, or unknown fungus parts, is super handy. If you rake, get these. I can't believe I've spent eight years here drowning in leaves, and a lifetime in California, without them.

I use these to pick up branches that have thorns, as I dislike being stabbed or poked by spiked plants. Using these, makes it easier and faster to do. I can pick up lots of grass and branches. I agree with what others say, they're flimsy and feel cheap. But they do the job and so far, none are broke. I can't say whether they can bend, and I don't want to try. The size of these are great for me. I do recommend wearing gloves as the handles leaves an exposed area where sharp branches can get into. I think they're worth it and I would buy them again in the future.

This makes picking up leaves easy and efficient. It saves your back (you don't have to bend over as much) and cuts down your time doing this drudgery significantly

Just tried out a pair of these leaf scoops. Very nice, makes the scooping process very easy. Definitely beats trying to use a shovel. You clamp the leaves between the scoop halves and there's very little spillage.

These things work great - you can gather up leaves really fast. You have to bend over to gather the leaves - but that is expected expected.

I used this device to pick up grass and leaves off my lawn after I raked it. Worked great.

These will work fine but its really just two big pieces of lightweight plastic that should eb priced lower. Warning - The label on the front is ridiculous and doesn't peel off leaving a crappy paper mess behind, so if you want it off - you will need to soak it off.
