Cracked after 5 years
Great grip trainer, I used it as a warm up for five years and then it cracked and a piece of metal hit my face, luckily not my eye. Would recommend their products only giving four stars because it cracked but maybe that’s to be expected after heavy use

Well made. I would order the Trainer instead of Sport if could do over
The device is very simple, but it seems very sturdy and well-made. I can't imagine breaking it. It squeaked a bit. Two drops of oil on the spring and it is silent. I really struggled to decide which model was the right strength for me. I weigh 145 pounds, and I am active. I am a competitive paddler, which does develop some hand strength, and I do some lifting, but nothing aimed specifically at grip strength (until now) and don't think of myself as having an unusually strong grip, so I figured the Sport model (80 pounds of resistance) would be the right place to start. However, I can crank out three sets of 20 with either hand. I was hoping to start with something I would be able to close perhaps 4-6 times. If I was able to do this purchase over, I would go with the Trainer (100 pounds of resistance). I don't necessarily want a huge collection of grippers (or the expense of accumulating them) so I might try to make the jump to No. 1 (140 pounds) once I have spent a few weeks with the Sport. As some have mentioned, the texture of the grippers is rough. I don't mind that -- I need my hands to be tough for long paddling sessions. If you don't want that, you will need to either wear gloves or put tape on the grippers.

Grandson liked the exerciser
Bought to give my grandson for Christmas & he liked it very much. He’s been lifting weights to get in shape.

A high quality grip trainer, which one to start with?
These are the grip trainers to buy. The question is: where to start. I chose to start with the Sport gripper. I'm just about to turn 70, but I work out at the YMCA 3X per week, mainly using the weight machines, and of late I've been doing "dead hangs" around 30-40 seconds. I would say I'm reasonably fit for my age. The Sport was the perfect place for me to start. I can do a couple sets of 10 reps closing it all the way except for the last couple reps. IMHO, one needs to be careful and not overdo it, because it is easy to injure yourself. If you're having trouble closing it, don't force it, take a step down to a gripper you can close for reps. Give yourself a day or two to recover, then repeat. Slow and steady progression is the key. I think I'll be to the point where i want to start to try the Trainer gripper in a couple months. Hopefully working with these grippers to develop strength will work in synergy with the dead hang to develop endurance.

Challenging grip work, seems sturdy
My mate got these. He can do the all three although the last one is challenging for him so it is worth it for him as he got them to improve his grip strength. As for me, I can do the lightest one and so I too am working on my grip strength. These are made of metal and seem quite sturdy to me.

Excellent Gripper.
Bought the CoC Sport hand gripper, as a high repetition / warm up tool. Excellent quality, with enough tension to challenge most people not used to grip / weight training. The great thing about the CoC range, is that you can progress quickly, once you have improved your grip strength on a particular gripper, there is always the next gripper in the range, should you wish to progress. Not cheap, but whether you just want to improve your hand grip strength a little, or you wish to build massive grip strength, for powerlifting or strongman, I highly recommend the Captain's of Crush hand gripper range.
