Hycosan Shield Eye Drops – Preservative Free Single Ingredient Formula for Management of Dry Eyes – 280 Applications – 3ml

Was recommended this by my optician. The immediate relief was incredible - I don't think my eyes have ever naturally felt so comfortable. Recommended it to my brother 30 seconds after the first use, he was a bit shocked at the price per litre 😆 but ordered it and the following day messaged to say he tried it immediately on delivery and also couldn't believe the instant relief. That feeling lasts throughout the day and has changed the way I feel about my eyes and wearing contact lenses completely. Fantastic. You don't realise how uncomfortable your eyes have always been until they aren't.

Little drops of heaven for my poor and irritated eyes and worth every penny. I have dry eyes and use Hycosan Extra daily anyway but after having laser surgery to reduce eye pressure my eyes were left very dry and uncomfortable and Extra wasn’t making much difference. As soon as I dropped this in my eyes it really was bliss and they were instantly calmed and lubricated. Unlike other reviews I found the bottle OK to use although not as easy as the Extra and I felt the drop go in probably because it’s winter and my bathroom is cold! One drop in each has lasted hours. Yes they’re expensive but when you need something stronger than your usual drop these are worth it in my opinion. I will always make sure I have these available for those moments when eyes are sore and irritated and I’ve probably tried most over the counter drops. These are on another level!

These drops are a great idea. But unfortunately, they were ruined by poor execution. My issues are explained below: 1) The blend. The perflouro-whatever that makes up the active ingredient is only good for PREVENTING irritation. It works for an good 4-5 hours at keeping your eyes hydrated - and it does a good job at it. But what if your eyes are ALREADY DRY? Well, you're out of luck. Sodium hyaluronate (the active ingredient in other Hycosan drops) gives your eyes the feeling of relief and unfortunately that's not present here. Why don't they just blend both ingredients into one eye drop?? That way it could relieve tired/irritated eyes AND prevent them drying out. 2) Oilyness. It's an oily eye drop. That means you'll have no idea that it's actually in your eyes because you won't be able to feel the drops themselves. You'll only know it's in by the time it comes leaking out all around your eyes. 3) The dispenser mechanism. It's just a regular squeezy bottle. On the one eye drop solution that actually needed a push dispenser mechanism, they didn't include it. Who decided that?? Like I said, it's impossible to know when it's gone in your eyes. The push dispenser mechanism would've fixed all that by delivering just one controlled drop. Instead, were stuck with some squeezy bottle that you're guaranteed to waste drops with. And it's a tiny 3ml bottle so there's not much to go around in the first place! I hope that Hycosan can take this feedback and come out with a new, improved version.

Fantastic eye drops recommended by my optician. Very very expensive on Amazon, half the price elsewhere.

Felt relief straight away

Warning: read the description carefully. You get 3ml of eyedrops, just over half a teaspoon, in a bottle the size of a fingernail, deceptively packaged in a standard size eyedrops box that is almost empty. The liquid is thin, somewhat oily but watery, it drips out of the bottle without squeezing, hard to control and easy to waste. It's meant to coat your eye and stay put, but I can't say that the effect is better than from standard hyaluronic acid drops or artificial tears, but your are paying almost twice the price for less than half the amount of a normal bottle.

Very expensive difficult to use better products on Amerzon

Iv only just started using this so to early to tell if it works but I will say it’s so expensive for the tiny amount you get and you only get half a bottle! It’s difficult to get in your eyes and when you do get it in it feels like most of the oil just comes out anyway on your face. Other Hycosan drops bottles are so much better then this.
