Good fish- good price
Tonight on the gulf coast of Alabama with temperatures at 85ยฐF or more today and a whopping 95% humidity I was going to open a can of Mina's and enjoy the goodness straight out of the can without any prep time. I had cut extra vegetables this morning and decided to cook the asparagus tomato onion and sweet bell peppers for 4 min. Well I went this far so I took another 4 min. To cook some ramen noodles. What a great simple meal it was. I was thinking about this review and thought mina's are Moroccan. I read the box and saw in print the exact words that I was thinking to describe this fish: " ...our sardines are artisanally prepared and packed in EVOO. The result is a tender mild sardine with a delicate taste of the sea." I concur 100%. The very good medium bodied oil has nutty overtones as well Total prep and clean-up time was about 13 minutes yet 1 hr. after enjoying my meal I've got a smile on my face and a full tummy. So good was the meal I topped it off with a spoonful of almond butter and a little raw local honey. Life is good! Thankyou all the dedicated Mina persons who did their part to make this can of sardines for me a very pleasurable eating experience. People pick up some cans for yourself and enjoy the taste sensations. Greybeard

Meaty sardines
The sardines are nice and meaty. Very mild in taste. They make a tasty addition to salads and definitely can be eaten plain for a snack or a meal.

Canโt believe I actually LIKE sardines since discovering the Mina Sarfindined in EVOO.
Wanting sardines in my eating routine at this point of my life is mind blowing.๐คฏ I am telling everyone I know about THESE sardines! ๐๐๐๐๐ I am in my 60โs and have NEVER eaten sardines because my entire lifeโs experience of them has always been repulsive! Just the thought of sardines would send a wave of nausea to my stomach, due to the very pungent, unpleasant, disgusting, extreme fishy smell. Well, I needed to shake up my metabolism and desperately wanted to give the 72 hour sardines (only) challenge a try. This desperation led me to the discovery of these particular sardines. I purchased a pack of 12, with fingers crossed, I opened the first can, and I didnโt get knocked over from an overwhelming, disgusting fishy smell. Instead, I was surprised and in disbelief that the sardines were mild (understatement), and there were 3 large sardines stuffed inside the can. Long story shortโฆ..they made my 72-hour sardine challenge so easy. The sardine challenge really worked, and now I actually crave these sardines even though the 72-hour challenge is over. My absolute favorite way to prepare them is to dump the sardines and all the EVOO into a skillet, add some Himalayan pink salt and a generous amount of Mrs. Dash seasoning, push them and flip them around till they are a little crispy and the seasoning gets crunchy. I slide them out of the skillet onto a plate and make sure to top them off with all the little crispies. They are so delicious and sometimes I squeeze a little mustard over them. Iโm amazed! No one could have ever convinced me I would like sardines EVER. These sardines are AWESOME, due to their MILD smell & flavor, their freshness, and the oil is extra virgin olive oilโฆ..instead of other oils in some other brands that are unhealthy and inflammatory. Wanting sardines in my life after all my years is mind blowing. I keep telling all my friends about these fantastic sardines! ๐๐๐๐๐

Good sardines
These are really good sardines. They are caught off the coast in Morocco, whis is not too far away from Portugal, so basically the same region of the Atlantic ocean. They are good sized, probably considered medium, and have a nice texture to them. They are not mushy, and the bones were soft. I did not see any scales on the 2 tins that I have tried, and both of those had 4 fish in each. If there are bigger ones, then there may only be 3 instead. Time will tell. I will come back as I open more tins. The olive oil actually good. Some sardine tins have a light olive oil, but this is dark in color with a rich taste. Overall a good combo of olive oil and sardines. Not the best, but still good and from the same area of ocean where the good portuguese sardines are taken from.

Best flavor and quality!
Excellent quality. Lovely aroma when opened, no strong 'fishy smell'. These sardines are delicious without any need to cover their flavor with crackers or sauces. You can tell the extra virgin olive oil is high quality as well. After sampling dozens of brands and sardines from various countries these are in my top 3. Price is fantastic especially considering the quality.

Didn't like these as well as others
First thing, I have to say this review is based on a single can, so consider that when you read. Taste of these fish was OK for the most part, olive oil was the canning medium and it's why I bought them. What I didn't like was there were three large sardines in the can, and their skin seemed kind of ragged. Not cat food ragged, but not as pleasant to see when you open the can. You eat them by breaking them up because they are so large, and I didn't like that. It may be that the area of the world these are from just produces larger fish species used for sardines (off the coast of Morroco) but I don't know. In any case, it's mainly the appearance that bothers me and that may not be true for others. As I said, taste is OK and they are processed in a healthy oil.

High quality for a good price!
These are skin on, bone in sardines, my personal preference. You can really taste the EVOO - excellent flavor. You will find an occasional scale but who cares? I find them in every brand I buy. I love these on Swedish Wasa crisp bread. Great price too!
