Good build but designed for 880Mhz
I purchased this fiberglass antenna advertised for 900 MHz use, and after testing it with a NanoVNA, I discovered it resonates closer to the 880–890 MHz range rather than right at 915 MHz. Build quality is solid, the fiberglass enclosure feels sturdy, and it mounts easily to a standard mast, making it a durable outdoor option. In real-world use with LoRa/Meshtastic gear, performance is acceptable, with an SWR around 1.4–1.5 at 915 MHz, which is workable but not as efficient as a properly tuned 915 MHz antenna. If your project or region uses the 868/880 MHz band, this antenna is a very good match. However, for US ISM 915 MHz applications, you’ll get better efficiency and range with an antenna specifically tuned for that frequency. Overall, it’s a decent product, but not the most accurate for 915 MHz users.

Great Value, quality antenna
This is a really nice antenna. It should be noted that this is not an Omni directional antenna and that is noted inside the box by the manufacturer. It definitely does have directional gain and at least with the unit I received, the high gain lobe is in line with the label printed on the antenna by the Mfg (and likely 180 degrees opposite). It's well built, easy to assemble and install and is performing well. and I'm pretty sure will hold up over time. I would buy this again.

Very Resonant
Very good antenna, extremely resonant on it's advertised frequency domain, and of good build quality. Came with ample Coax and good mounting hardware.

It works but...
I saw disappointing results with my portable node (probably because it shipped with a junk antenna) so I bought this roof kit mostly to see if Meshtastic even has a presence in my area. Height is might when it comes to radio so it's sometimes hard to tell if the problem is your gear or lack of activity. It does indeed work but I should add "in spite of the included coax". According to the experienced users I've talked to (funny how you never find them until after you've spent money lol), if you need 20 feet of coax between your Meshtastic node and antenna, it had better be the expensive, high quality stuff that's at least as thick as your thumb, which is why most of the outdoor nodes you see have the antenna mounted directly to the node's weatherproof enclosure. The fact that it works at all with this much thin coax is probably a testament to the high quality of the antenna. Wasn't impressed with the mounting hardware but it's good enough for an antenna of this size. If I ever get another day off with decent weather, I'll have to get out the ladder and see how well it works connected directly to the node.

A Fraudulent Antenna... Do Not Buy.
This product is a fraud. I wish I can choose zero stars, but I cannot. It is sold as a 902-928MHz, 5.8 dBi antenna, and it is physically impossible that it is. It's not. Allow me to explain. By way of background, I have been a professional antenna designer and consultant in antennas for three decades. I live, breathe and eat antennas. A buddy of mine got into the Meshtastic Node radios, and dragged me along. He found a shopping list from a respected practitioner of the node art, and wanted to purchase a particular antenna... this one. I suggested that I buy one in parallel and use it for my node. For the price, it would be a time-saver. When it arrived, I initiated a video call with my friend and proceeded to test in my lab. I found a problem during the electrical evaluation, which involves monitoring the Return Loss while moving a finger up the length of the antenna. It was unresponsive at the top of antenna, which should have been the "hottest" part. Then, I used a strong flashlight to see through the radome (which I believe is PVC). I saw what appeared to be two bits of foam in the lower half... I could not resolve the conductor. But, in the upper half I saw nothing, which was consistent with my other observations. I told my friend that I believe that the upper half is empty, and that this was a junk antenna. He encouraged me to proceed to surgery, and see what was inside. He offered to cover the cost. I was right. The upper half of the antenna was air. The lower half did have a piece of wire, and I concluded that it was behaving like a half-wave dipole, NOT a two element colinear, which would have a gain close to the claimed 5.8 dBi. A simple dipole should be about 300mm long, and it would have a theoretical maximum gain of 2.2 dBi. A perfect two-element colinear would about double that, or add 3 dB for 5.2 dBi. I won't bother addressing the difference between 5.2 and 5.8..... not worth it. However, the missing structure in the top half of the radome was undeniable, and all the documentation misrepresented what this antenna was. Note that I did not address the impedance matching (Return Loss, SWR). The match was good! Meaning that the wire I saw in the bottom half of the radome was indeed trimmed to resonance. It was a collinear in dipole's clothing. We call that fraudulent. Do not buy. I returned mine.

Great Performance on 915MHz
Very happy with this antenna. I’m using it with Meshcore on the 915 MHz band in the U.S., and it performs well with good range and a clean signal. SWR looks solid and I haven’t run into any issues in real world use. One important note, as anyone who understands RF will tell you: I’d avoid using the included extension cable if possible, as it introduces additional signal loss. You’ll get the best performance by mounting the antenna directly to the enclosure with your radio. Overall, a reliable antenna that delivers good distance and stable performance when set up properly.

Happy purchase
Super happy with this antenna, made the difference between being acknowledged and not. I couldn’t get messages off before but now I have a ton more nodes detected and I can actually get message out. Paired it with a RAK 19001 and a 4631 core.

Terrible antenna! Do not buy it.
I bought 2 of these antennas and set them Up in different locations for my helium minors. The just don’t work! Now I have to buy other antennas. Waste of money.

Excellent SWR
I have purchased 2 of these 5.8dBi antennas now (and plan to purchase a couple more). Both read an excellent SWR of less than 1.2 in the low 900MHz range (with 20ft cable). For the price it's an incredible value for a high quality outdoor antenna that also includes a mounting kit and cable. None of the components are cheaply made, either. I see some people here giving low ratings because their "witnesses" decreased, which has nothing to do with the quality. It's important to understand how antenna gain affects your use case (see antenna chart).
