. Review: Great classic rock music from the 80's. - Great music. This is one of my favorite bands of the 80's. Many good songs on the cd. Review: Awesome Sound By British Trio - What can I say, I discovered 'The Outfield' whilst playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on PS2 and have never looked back. I was like, "What is that song that starts 'Josie's on a va-cation far away .....' it sounds awesome?". Anyway I found out it was by these guys and immediatly bought "Big Innings" having never heard any other 'Outfield' songs. (That song was called "Your Love" by the way.) When I played the album for the first time I was blown away. With fantastic chimming 80's sounding guitars, great vocal harmonies, which I am a fan of e.g. 'The Byrds', 'CSN', 'The Beach Boys', 'The Hollies' etc., and good song writing, this album was like a huge, undiscovered!, missing chunk out of my album collection. I cannot understand why these guys are not more well known. I like a lot of music and a lot of musical styles and 'The Outfield' have just the right combination of sounds to be awesome. Standout tracks include: "Your Love", "My Paradise", "The Night Ain't Over", "All The Love" and "Say It Isn't So". There are two songs previously unreleased, "It Should Have Been Me" and "Through The Years", which are also great. The only songs I don't particulary like are "Somewhere In America '89" (The original version on "Bangin'" is better) and "One Hot Country" which appears on a soundtrack album somewhere. I've since bought all seven studio albums, the latest one titled "Any Time Now" having been released in 2004, is only available (I believe) through the band's official website. To summarise, great album, greater band. In fact I would now class them as my favourite band. Listen to the samples and enjoy. (By the way the studio albums are: "Play Deep", "Bangin'", "Voices Of Babylon", "Diamond Days", "Rockeye", "Extra Innings" and "Any Time Now".)

I Love the Outfield: Good Hit List
I already have the hits off this album but got it anyway for the four new songs: actually, three new songs and a very cool and moody remake of "Somewhere in America". Well worth the price for just these 4 sounds if you're a completist. If you're new to the band this is probably just as good an introduction as any. Just be forewarned that you're missing a lot of other great songs and you're going to buy all their albums anyway ;-). Here's my ranking of the Outfield's releases: 5 (best) to 1 (worst): 4.5 Play Deep 4.5 Bangin' 5.0 Voices of Babylon 2.0 Diamond Days 4.0 Rockeye 4.0 Big Innings (4 New Songs) 2.0 Extra Innings (CD Only) 2.0 Any Time Now (CD Only) 1.0 Replay (Stream Only) 3.0 Your Love (Live) Have fun with it.

EXCELLENT ! Très bon produit à un très bon prix. Je vous recommande ce CD qui est en passant est très complet pour tous les bons collectionneurs de musiques Pop rock et new wave. Vous y entendrez de ce groupe londonien 16 de leurs meilleurs Singles, des chansons des années 1985 aux années 1992. Ce CD est sorti en 1996 sur étiquette Sony Music Entertainment U.S. Bonne Écoute!

Geniales Best of Album - 80er Rock, der unter die Haut geht
Bin zufällig beim Stöbern auf YouTube Music auf die Band Outfield aufmerksam geworden (eine Folge über 80 bereits verstorbene Musiker und deren Hits in den 80ern im Schnelldurchlauf), habe den Song "Your Love" keine 10 Sekunden lang gehört und sofort gewusst, über die Band muss ich unbedingt mehr in Erfahrung bringen. Der Titel ihres ersten Albums "Play Deep" trifft den Nagel auf den Kopf, die Musik geht wirklich unter die Haut. Werde mir das Debütalbum definitiv noch digital in HighRes zulegen. Eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit der Stimme des Leadsängers Tony Lewis zu Sting würde ich definitiv bescheinigen, The Outfield dürfte den Musikgeschmack der Fans von Sting und The Police durchaus treffen. Diese Best of Zusammenstellung umfasst 16 großartige Titel, darunter auch die Tophits "Your Love", "Say It Isn't So" und "All The Love In The World". Die CD hat eine gute Aufnahmequalität, ich höre sie rauf und runter wie ein verliebter Teenager. Schade, dass The Outfield in der Musikwelt so wenig Beachtung fand bzw. unterbewertet ist. Mein Musikherz haben sie jedenfalls gewonnen, vielleicht hatten sie einfach nur ein schlechtes Management, auch die Cover Artworks ihrer Alben, wie auch diesem Best of Album, sehen leider einfallslos bis schrecklich aus.
