Simple, Sturdy, and Smart Design
This bowl is perfect—durable stainless steel and the flat side fits flush against the wall, saving space and preventing spills in the crate. Easy to clean, rust-resistant, and built to last. My dog loves it, and I love how practical it is. I use this little one for my chihuahua and I have a bigger one for my poodle.

It seems to be working fine. it is a good size for our year ...
AUGUST 2018 - So ... It seems to be working fine. it is a good size for our year and a half old boxer mix pup. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I'm not sure how long it will take her to nose it up and dump the whole thing all over her crate. I'm just not sure how to secure it to prevent that from happening, but not take away the ease of lifting it off to clean / fill (which I actually really really like!). And then ... she's smart, maybe she will be smart enough to not dump her water. I'll update after it's been in use for a while, if she leaves it alone, I'll pop it up to 5 stars. Update: so we've been using this for a while and our spoiled rotten boxer mix has nudged it off the crate twice. Both times set off our glass break sensor of the alarm system. However, both times it was in protest of it being empty, and only once was it when we weren't home. She actually seems to prefer this one over the regular bowl / jug waterer. Going to order a second one for food in her bowl for the occasional long days in the crate. Second update (April 24, 2019) - I finally got around to ordering another bowl because summer is coming and there might be a few longer days. Today was anticipated to be one of those so I took the second bowl I ordered (arrived yesterday) and put 2 cups of kibble in there for our fur baby. Yep. Nope. She doesn't dump her water, but she won't let the food there. The mess was insane - kibble EVERYWHERE. Will need to look into securing this better if we are going to make another attempt. I am not docking stars, because this isn't the items fault (really), she lets the water bucket be. But I am sharing as a tale of caution for anyone else with a stubborn as all get out pooch. I will say that the original one is still in pristine condition. I run it through the dishwasher at least once a week for good measure, but it has never seemed icky and it still looks brand new!

Good Pail
My puppy thinks it is fun to get her nose under the pail and try to flip it. So far, this pail has stopped her from tossing kibble all over the floor. I use a double snap to attach the handle to the side with the hooks through the mesh. It’s still a little loose and she can move it around, but has not been able to dump it. It may depend on your crate. The one I am using has metal squares instead of bars. The pail is designed with the handle going into two holders instead of having the ends form hooks that go through holes in the pail. This is safer for the dog. The ones with hooks can get tangled in a long haired dog’s coat. [I’ve had to cut a Peke free from a pail’s hook.] The double hooks on these pails are a bit heavy, so if you’re carrying the pail it tends to hang crooked.

Perfect for any Crate
We buy these for our dog crates. Our pups get thirsty throughout the day when we aren't home and they are crated. These are easy to attach and remove, easy to clean, and keep the water a nice temperature. They are sleek and work with any room decor. They are sturdy and show no signs of wear even after years of use. We love how much water they hold so you don't have to refill it constantly.

Perfect X-Pen Pail
I read a ton of reviews before selecting this water bucket, and it was the perfect choice. I bought this to use inside an X-pen when at dog shows, but I am finding that I am using it in a variety of situations/environments. It is extremely well made. The rivet attachments are well constructed and appear to be strong, and the pail has a nice weighty, solid feel to it. It's even very stable when just placed on the ground. The flat back is a very nice feature and I was really happy to find that the hooks are ample enough to fit around the wider plastic grid work on the IRIS exercise pen panels that we use outside our RV. I have used this pail only about a dozen times, but I'm not anticipating any issues and am fully expecting to still be using it at least 2-3 years from now. (I purchased the 4 quart pail and am using it for an Aussiedoodle and an Irish Wolfhound.)

I recommend the flat sided stainless pail. I use these to hang on the inside of the front wire grid door of my dog crates. It may not be evident in the picture but the pails have two hooks and the pails stay in place quite good hanging from the wire door while driving, at least while driving on reasonably good gravel roads. The 2-quart size is the right size for a medium size dog. I have Brittanys; the pail is large enough for them to comfortably drink from and lets me open and close the crate door with the pail staying in place.

Super happy with the quality and the size of these pails, better than expected! Definitely recommend these for hanging inside a kennel for the small-medium sized dog. So glad I found these.
