Long-lasting and hydrating
Best PF eye drops, especially if you’ve had post-surgery. Don’t need to reapply as often as other Systane formulations.

Relief for my sensitive eyes
Relieved my dry eyes, soothing - use it as needed about twice a day

Really good eye drops poorly packaged
The Hydration works well for my dry eye and the PF part is great because I can use it repeatedly when needed. Vials easy to carry in my pocket so always with me when needed. Unfortunately, Amazon still does not match packaging with the package very well. Bulletproof items are shipped in sturdy boxes and flimsy items are shipped in bags. My Hydration PF looks like it traveled through Iran.

LASIK
When I had LASIK eye surgery, I bought a box of these and Refresh Optive Mega-3, and my optometrist gave me a box of Optase Dry Eye Intense. The Systane Hydration PF was phenomenal at helping control my dry eyes symptom after the surgery and Optase was also good. The Hydration PF does cause 30 seconds to a minute of distortion like looking through a water bubble while it works its magic but I don’t mind for how effective it was. I went through about a box a week and it’s recommended to use the vials for a month after the surgery and then you can switch to the bottles. The Mega-3 burned tf out of my eyes, unfortunately, but a lot of people have had luck with them. Everyone is different, so buy one box of at least 2 different kinds your optometrist recommends. My optometrist mentioned (too late) to avoid eyedrops with oils in them… sooo the Mega-3 drops (and Systane Complete). Hope this helps

Not Quite
I've used all the preservative-free Systane variations of drops intended for frequent use while awake -- not their gel, ointment, etc. versions in their single-use vials. Haven't noticed any difference among all those variations. (My opthamologist recommended both Refresh Optive and Systane, and I've tried both. Preference is for Systane: eyes prefer it and the vials are consistently full whereas Refresh are inconsistent with some vials nearly empty.) Because I use so much of this stuff my go-to is the Ultra PF version: it can be the least expensive Systane product when the 60-vial version goes on sale. Single-use only vials was urged by my opthamalogist(s). Also important to me is freshness of the product. The product I'm reviewing is twice as old as I would knowingly purchase: I want an expiration date that's a year out or more, but what I received was half that. (Yes, storage temp, etc. matters too.) Anyway, I rely on Alcon's Systane drops year round, every day at least twice a day even during humid weather, several/many times a day during heating season.
