Filterlogic Gravity Water Filter, Replacement for Berkey® BB9-2®, Purewell®

I returned an off-brand that I purchased cuz there's no way that they worked and they didn't come with a primer. So I repurchased these filter logic and they're not Berkey but they do work they come out a little bit faster at first but then understanding the science of them I feel pretty confident. I read not to use the red dye with these specific filters. Filter logic sent me a video of how to prime them because my faucet doesn't line up with the little washer that they send. I use a condiment bottle that you get from the dollar store that you would put ketchup in or whatever and it has a long pointed end you fill it with water and squeeze it into the bottom of the filter the little hole there and it makes it sweat it primes it it works great. The first time it came out very fast in a stream and I was concerned. I had put a second set of washers underneath where the wing nuts are and that is not advisable. Once I took them off and retightened it came out slightly slower and then I read that it's just normal for these filter logics to come out they're not exactly the same as the Berkey they do not filter supposedly as much as the Berkey mostly known for filtering chlorine. They are sufficient the water taste fine I use them for my dogs because of the chlorine hopefully fluoride is being taken from the water.

I purchased the Filterlogic gravity water filters as a budget-friendly replacement for my original Berkey BB9-2 elements, and I am highly impressed. These filters work perfectly in my travel Berkey water system. They are wonderful for filtering my water. Easy to install

It's a good value. I have a 1 1/2 gallon model. It has places for 4 filters. I've been running it with 3. That is because the filters I was using were rather slow. These filters are huge, but they last longer, and are quicker. I can pribably do fine with 2 of them. That means I need to plug the third hole. I have no idea where the plug is to remove the third filter. At some point I will upgrade to a 3 gallon model. But meanwhile I have to make do with what I have.

If you want filters that filter out microbes then these filters are not for you. The paper insert on the filters has fine print that states you should use water that is free of microbes as filters do not filter them out. So the marketing on these filters say Berkey compatible which they are since they fit easily into the Berkey cannister. However these filters are not a true replacement as they do not filter bacteria, parasites and other microbial contaminates out of the water for drinking purposes.

These filters work very well to reduce the excessive chlorine taste that we get in our municipal water. I use these with a Berkey filter system and have had no problems. The rings fit tightly with the Berkey and they don't leak at all. The filters seem to pass the water through more quickly than the Berkey filters, but they seem to be working well. I haven't done any testing on the water coming out of the filters yet, but they water sure does taste better than prior to filtering! These filters are much more reasonably priced, too. The only reason I gave them four stars is that in my last order one came through cracked, so better packaging might be in order.

Very easy to install, the water instantly taste so much better. The flow is faster. The previous filters lasted for about three years, which is great value for my money.

Great product, filter is a nice alternative and has the same fit, form and function as the more expensive Berkey filters. Water tastes great.

I had the original Berkey filters for four years. I replaced them with this filter. There is no way to know for sure how these compare in removing contaminants, but i can say the water is clear and has no taste.
