Product description Review: Such a beautiful way to begin my bonsai collection!! Now time to watch DIY vids - seems easy enough. - Delivered all together within a week: the Chinese maple-type seeds [30]. One med box had both the seeds and my โmedium bagโ of the Enriched soil fit in nicely together and next day my realization hit - I need planters now. Someone make a nice coordinated package with 3/4 vessels included mesh. The rest In the packs I am writing aboutโฆ Review: Good but suspicious - EDIT: 8 month update: please do NOT buy these, as you can see in the third picture. Chinese elm have significantly smaller leaves, where these are 3-4X what they should be and are a completely different shade of green EDIT: 6 month update: Iโve have confirmed that these are NOT Chinese elm. The leaves are significantly larger than they should be, please be cautious TL/DR these might not be Chinese elm, I suspect they could be slippery elm, American elm, or Siberian elm. Here are the seeds as packaged, and two weeks after being planted Letโs start with the good: out of the sample size of 5 seeds I planted, I had 100% germination after a week. There were also more seeds than advertised. Now the bad: because they arrived without the papery โwingsโ it is impossible to identify what species they are until they are a few years old. Why would a company strip off the wings, losing some in the process, other than to hide the fact that these are NOT the species advertised? These were not cold stratified, and I had 100% germination. This is a little suspicious as well. Chinese elm need to be cold stratified. Although, this could be because I used such a small sample size. TL/DR these might not be Chinese elm, I suspect they could be slippery elm, American elm, or Siberian elm.

Each seed grew!
I had bought bonsai seeds on a whim from another location and none grew. I wanted to try again, so I used this vendor; When I followed their instructions, each seed sprouted! I'm pretty excited and hope they grow quickly.

NOTHING
The seeds have not started germinating, and I followed the directions. These seeds are inside the greenhouse where I have grown multiple different types of trees, and these seeds never started anything, after 3 weeks.
