In this easy-to-read book, Peter Jeffery shows us just how tantalizingly enjoyable Bible teaching can be. With short but solid chapters on key subjects, he outlines the ABCs of the Christian faith. Each of the chapters is bite sized. There is just enough to manage at one time, and you will find there is much to nourish the mind as well as to warm the heart and inspire the will. Quotations from other writers are also included, as is as a list of recommended books for additional reading. There is also a guide for reading the New Testament and Psalms through in a year. Review: Must read for every Christian - This book was written to give an over view of the foundational aspects of theology that every Christian should know. I have a strong church background in teaching, I have taken many Bible classes in high school, and do a lot of personal Bible study. I would say that a lot of the beginning concepts of Christ and who he is that were covered in the first chapters were a little basic for me. But as I got closer to the end of the book, I also found some aspects of doctrine that I really needed to spend time thinking over and discussing in a small group to really understand and grasp them well. I studied this book in a small group, and really think that helped me glean more rather than just reading through it myself. I would recommend this book to just about any Christian (though probably not those who have taken lots of Bible/theolgy course work, in that case you would probably not be challenged) as everyone should be familiar with these basic doctrines. Review: Christian Doctrines Made Accessible - This is a wonderful little book on the basic and foundational doctrines of the faith. I am using it as a springboard to take our church through an overview of these doctrines. Bitesize Theology is concise, yet thorough, and very accessible. It is good for an introduction, or for review of these essential truths. I highly recommend it for personal study, and one-to-one or small group discipleship.

Good Family Devotional
It is wonderful for family devotionals! It short, sweet, and not overly technical. I liked every chapter but the one on election. For that one I will be using Hershall Hobbs chapter from the Baptist Faith in Message on Election. To me it has a much more balanced approach on this subject. I hope this helps.

easy to read
Peter Jeffery can always be counted on to "put the cookies where they can be reached." This book is concise, clear, easy to read, and recommended for those who want to get a grasp on basic doctrines of the Christian faith. So many folks I know what to jump right into the practical side of Christianity. But without a proper foundation of knowing the God of Christianity and the person and work of Christ, they will soon burn out or end up off the good path. This book will help get a firm grasp on basic truths that help the Christian stay the course.

Good choice for seekers, new believers, and those seeking to grow in their understanding of God and His word.
A great introductory read for new believers and those seeking to deepen their understanding of God's word. Some major concepts of Christianity and the bible are discussed in a way that makes it accessible to the average reader. Theology means "knowledge of God". What could be more practical than to give believers a better understanding of God and His word. Bought several of these to give to friends and family members.

A book for everyone.
I absolutely love this book. It was so easy to read and made it easy to understand principals of the Bible very clearly. It covered so much information in a brief period period of time. I have purchased many of these books to pass along to others. And they have also enjoyed it. I will read it over and over again. I would highly recommend this book.

Highly useful clarification of God's core truths
Peter Jeffrey has the unique ability to simplify in a few sentences or paragraphs complex theological doctrines that are useful for both seminary trained and non-seminary lovers of God's Word. Gave a copy to my pastor and he loves it, carries it around. Highly recommend this tiny book.

Excellent Primer for Immature Believers
Weighing in at 109 pages (approximately 90 pages of reading), this "bitesize" book excels at clearly and concisely presenting key Christian doctrines without watering them down. Each section concludes with a relevant quote, a couple questions for reflection and application, and suggested further reading. Although written from a reformed perspective, it takes no stance on spiritual gifts (but emphasizes the necessity of Holy Spirit empowerment for ministry) or the Millennium (but emphasizes the significance of being heavenly-minded/ future-glory-oriented). It also avoids going into a "camp" mentality of Calvinism/Arminianism steering around not only the attitude but the terms. Baptism is not included in this book. I would guess the reason has to do with making it amenable to a wider audience but it's a glaring omission in light of quoting Hebrews 6 regarding the elementary truths of the faith. Particularly helpful for those who are just entering into grappling with the essentials of the Christian faith and/or the theological vocabulary of the NT. The first two chapters tackle the need for a grasp of the elementary truths of the faith and the common objection to the distinctive vocabulary of the faith. These two are nearly worth the cost of the book alone for the target audience. Target audience: immature Christians. If you're a bible major, seminarian, pastor, etc. skip this book unless you're in a position where you might be able to utilize this book for the benefit of the target audience. For what it is, the book does well.

Getting to grips with the Christian Faith.
This an ideal introduction to the Christian Faith by a well known and effective preacher and writer. It is ideally suited to the newly born again believer being clearly written in short paragraphs with the main tenets of the Faith simply but not superficially stated.. There are very useful Bible references, and telling quotes from Christian scholars which will further the readers understanding. Also, it provides authoritative answers to ultimate questions like: the meaning of life, how can a person truly know God? what is it to be in a living relationship with God? how can a person be sure of Heaven? And many more! Relevant for all of whatever background or station in life. Of an convenient size, it can easily be carried around and a chapter or two easily got through when waiting for an appointment, eg. Doctor, Dentist, or Hospital! I profited greatly in this way getting through 3 chapters!

Great book for most Christians
Despite being a Christian for over 10 years, I had an extremely vague understanding of some of the concepts covered in this book: Atonement, Justification, Sanctification, even The Trinity. There are twenty short chapters on each one with questions at the end to provoke thought. Good to read one per day, perhaps in mornings or as a gift to those who would benefit. Unless you have studied theology and have a confident grasp of all those concepts, I would recommend this book. As Christians we need to keep deepening our faith: "In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!" - Hebrews 5:12. This book will not give you solid food, further study is required (not least of the Bible!) but it is a good foundation.
