Can this be used as a night splint for achilles tendonitis? I have one with a metal insert that is torture!

No you can't use this as a splint for achilles tendonitis but for achilles tendonitis I do know that a pressure boot is good where most of the pressure comes from the back of the ankle and around the ankle and it is adjustable. But this won't work for that.

The fixed velcro strap(s) have worn out and will not keep the brace in place. Is it possible to purchase replacement velcro straps?

Buy 3/4" (inch) Black or white velcro (Best to get Industrial strength) on Amazon or at you local store, Such as: Walmart Dollar store Home Depot A common complaint in the reviews is that the strap wears out quickly; as such, when I place my order for the brace I'll just add to the order: 3/4" (inch) industrial strength velcro (in white to match my kicks). I'll just put the the strap that comes with it aside for the rare occasion I wear black shoes w/ laces.

Are you able to drive if worn on the right foot?

Yes. I wear mine on my right foot and have no problem. I also have a very ridgid metal one that clamps around my calf, which is very uncomfortable, hard to put on/take off, and interferes with driving. This device has some give which helps activating the throttle, but keeps me from tripping and falling. I'm on my second one and am very pleased with it. Good luck with it.

This has made a big difference to me - I have MS and my left food droops when I'm tired. I was destroying shoes and risking tripping - the brace addresses this. I've used it for a few months and it has lasted well, is comfortable (sometimes forget I have it on). Quality is good. Highly recommended.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have had foot drop for over 6 years. I have tried other AFOs to assist in stabilizing my gait, but they have either not provided enough support, didn't fit properly or were cumbersome to put on or wear. This product is easy to put on. The velcro closures are sturdy and the product has good support. I am able to use it with my regular walking shoes since it attaches by looping around shoe laces. It is light weight and the velcro is long enough to attach comfortably around my ankle. The price is very reasonable and I am ecstatic that this product is actually helping with my gait. I have worn it for several days and I feel like it allows me to walk almost as steadily as I did prior to getting foot drop! Thank you to whoever designed this product! I will be purchasing a spare for myself and I am also going to suggest this to my son who is also afflicted with foot drop.
