If you're building an electric fence, you need this type of wire. You use it to connect the fence to your charger/controller, even if you have no gates or breaks in your electric fence! It's also what you use to connect sections of electric fencing separated by things like gates, etc.. For what it is, it works great.. For hooking up your electric fence, remember you need two runs of it! One to the actual fence wire, the other to the grounding rod! So make sure you have the proper length. For connecting sections of fence, you only need a single run between the separate sections. It has a solid plastic shielding on it, but I didn't need anything besides normal wire cutters to work with it. For stripping it, you can use guarged wire strippers/cutters, but I'd use beefier wire cutters to actually cut it. it's a pretty solid wire, if I recall correctly.

I used this wire to connect my energizer to my fence and 3 grounding rods. Due to its thickness everything is connected very securely and working just fine. The lines are not running underground but on top of the ground. Because of the heaviness of the wire there is no movement at all of any of the wiring. Since grounding is so important, I am glad I bought this wiring.

I used this wire to jumper electric fencing at gates. It has a very tough outer insulation so it can buried without using a protective conduit in most situations. Due to the protective cover and it's larger gauge, it is quite stiff and can be a little harder to work with.

I used this product to replace a run of wire from my electric fence charger to my high tensile electric fence. I needed a steel wire with a good outer sheath, this product fit the bill perfectly. My wire run was about 35 feet each with a ground and hot wire, so I bought two (2) rolls. Product was shipped next day so I was able to complete the project with a short turn around. Stripping the hard plastic/rubber sheath is a pain as you have to use a utility knife to whittle away the outer sheath to the steel wire but this is part of the durability and strength of this product. Both wire runs fit well in a 1" PVC conduit, I used high tensile crimps to attach both hot wire and ground wire to my fence. I was pleased with this product and would purchase again.

Works great for my electric fence. Both to connect the fence and the ground. I also used a piece to make a bucket handle for one that broke. Strip both ends, put in bucket holes and bend. Perfect!

Heavy wire. Used for ground and power feed to fence. Stiff wire but manageable. Very tough coating. Probably fine for direct burial. I did use a conduit under the gate but probably fine without. Happy with this product.

I haven't used it yet but the product looks fine. The wire is quite stiff due to it's thickness. The wire is also very well insulated. I can't see anything wrong with this product.
