This pen is heavy, bulky, and awesome! I thought it was going to be hard to write with it because of its shape, but it is actually very smooth! I changed the ink for blue, fine tip, and it writes beautifully. It is in the expensive side, pen plus ink, I could have bought a pack of a hundred pens, but this is bult to last. It just comes in black here on Amazon, I think from the fisher space pen store there are other variants. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

It's lovely. It writes well and the barrel is large enough to be comfortable to use. It is a little heavier than I expected, and am used to, and didn't take long for me to adjust to it.

I am a pen nerd (those that are know exactly what I mean). This pen is five stars if you have a glove on and need to grasp a substantial pen to write with and will not be afraid to drop it, etc. I could imagine this being an excellent pen in the winter where you can write with it without taking off you glove in cold weather. Also, the space pen cartridge will work in any weather condition and you can read all the reviews on the ink, etc. This pen is not comfortable to write with a bare hand. I wish it were, but it is not, at least for me. The hexagon section is too large in diameter and quickly fatigues my hand. I am giving this pen 5 stars because it is advertised as a working pen for gloved folks. Finally, the quality is just outstanding for the following: (a) All metal construction and as far as I can tell both inside and out, (b) the spring is held in the bottom part you unscrew to put in a new cartridge so you will not lose it, (c) the threaded parts are all steel and look like they are machined from the base material and not press fit....very impressive, (d) the part to unscrew is knurled which is a blessing if your grip is not the best for whatever reason, (e) the clip is just outstanding, maybe the best I have ever seen in such a pen; very heavy duty steel but not to thick - this clip will hold up, (f) it is a space pen so the refills are top notch and I would recommend medium or fine, and (g) this is probably as strong as my tactical pen. Overall, very satisfied and this will be my cold weather pen or when I fly since it provides protection as well. Excellent value and made in the USA - both important to me. Also thanks to Amazon for making it a prime item.

Love this pen. This is actually my second one. As another reviewer mentioned the pen body is aluminum so it is prone to denting and deforming if it is dropped too much. I write this review more to help set expectations for what level of durable it is. This is a fantastic pen. Just don't drop it on it's tip while it's exposed. For some reason, my luck is that I've dropped both of my pens so far tip down onto concrete during work multiple times. Eventually the tip opening deformed and put stress on the plastic clicker mechanism from the cartridge getting pushed at an angle which broke the clicker mechanism on the first pen. On the second pen it caused the plastic bit to become loose enough to EJECT OUT THE BACK. I finally managed to get it back in after some muscling but it will only be a matter of time before it happens enough to need gluing. So if you're not regularly dropping things tip down onto concrete then you'll be perfectly happy with how consistently this pen performs. It got nice flat planes for a no-roll grip. The pen clip on the back is sturdy and holds strongly even to thinner pockets. The weight and balance is very comfortable and makes it easy to remember which pocket you put it in. Literally the one negative is just that if you're prone to dropping things you're eventually going to break this pen. If they made a bolt-action version of this pen I could die happy.

This pen is expensive, but I like the heft (can feel it in my pocket so I know it is there), the way it is sized so that it fits my hand, the ability to write on waterproof paper regardless of the weather, and the quality build. Yep, I should keep to a cheaper smaller pen, but this meets my needs. You need to watch the tip end as the tip does osen over time from the barrel; a tiny bit of loctite will keep it secure and still allow you to remove. Now I need to remember when I loan it for a coworker's use so I can get it back. Strongly recommmend.

So far I really like this pen, when I received it I was not disappointed by the feel or quality. For my job I have to right in logs quite often, this pen makes it easy and enjoyable. I’m proud to show it off!

I like the idea of having a pen on me at all times because I've found myself needing one very often. During work, I often end up carrying around a pen and way too many times have I reached for my pen only to find that it's come apart in my pocket, and even leaked in some cases. It's been really frustrating. I wasn't very interested in dropping a lot of money for a pen, but I really wanted to get something that was solidly built and wrote well with the idea that I'd ideally not have to be buying any more pens down the road, and so far, this pen has performed amazingly. I like the weight and it's feel in my hand when I grip it. The writing is smooth and consistent, and the click mechanism feels solid and satisfying whenever it's used.

Perfect pen

Smooth writing and comfortable to hold. Has a nice weight to it. I tried it out after blasting it with high pressure -30deg C compressed air/methyl alcohol mix (I used it to try and clear a stuck valve) and it took some physical cosmetic damage around the tip but still wrote fine. It is nice and thick to fit my big hands but that makes it a tight fit in some shirt pockets. The matte black is understated and clean, or at least it was until I bashed it up in the valve incident. This is the most expensive pen I've ever owned so I'm nervous about losing it but it's tough!

Love it. A bit bulky. Otherwise solid. May not be suitable for long note taking.
