i read great reviews of this hard drive! The Japanese are pretty dang good at making reliable stuff! I had to reformat it for mac but it wasnt that hard. to reformat you must earase it in the disk utilities app in the launchpad and replace it with "mac os Journaled"

Amazingnessssssssssss to me!
So to start off I have to say I bought this at Fry's on their black friday sale. It was only $58 to me, so might be a bit more excited about it. So I've only used this a couple times so far, but I can say after formatting it a couple times(trying to find a good format for both mac/windows) going from ntfs-mac os x extended-fat-ntfs-exfat. It still runs very speedy, although much faster on my macbook air(2012 i7 model). On my sony laptop(F series) with a usb3.0 port it writes at around 50mbp/s not sure about the read but should be faster than that. And then on my macbook air from blackmagic disk speed tests, it writes at 175mbp/s and the same 175ish mbp/s for reads. Astonishing. Also after messing around with it for 3 hours, its still cool and very quiet just a whisper! I would highly recommend this to friends.
