ProQ Flatdog Portable BBQ

This is an absolute gem of a buy! Retains heat so well and can do a lot of meat on it. Also, super compact and easy to transport. Perfect for those who want to BRAAI!

This is for our camper van as space is limited and this fits the bill. Ingenious design and the steel is a sturdy thickness. It is quite expensive but if space is limited it is a good choice. It is only a matter of time before disposable bbq's are banned.Edit: 30.5.2024Still going strong but a couple of tips learned from experience:1. I found that those self lighting 1 kg bags of lumpwood charcoal are the perfect size for the BBQ.2. I always line the bottom of the BBQ with two sheets of foil - one length wise and one width wise. Both oversize by about 60mm each side. This makes clean up the next morning very easy as you simply turn the foil inside four ways to neatly grab all the spent ashes. If you do it rights absolutely no "cleaning" with water/soap required. Tip: use bacofoil or other premium foil as it will tear if the foil is to thin.

Pros: Brilliant idea, fantastic space saving design. Quite heavy in a reassuring way. When it folds closed and opens as it should, it's brilliant! Good size cooking area.Cons: I had several very sharp edges on my copy. Managed to cut my wrist on the 3rd attempt at flipping it. Then also managed to trap my thumb and nearly cut that when closing it. The little cut out tabs that are supposed to fit between the small slots in order to take the bbq apart for cleaning, sometimes fall out when opening or closing the bbq. Tip: Don't muck about when closing the bbq - you must flip it quickly and confidently - this will reduce the chance of it coming out of the slots. Lastly, this is sold as a portable bbq, so why does this not come with a nylon carry bag or solid plastic case?! It really needs one.Even though it's only a 3 star review from me, I do recommend it since there's nothing out there like it. The manufacturing process needs a bit of refinement in order to ensure that the sharp edges are removed and rounded on all horizontal and vertical corners. Maybe the tabs that can fit through the slots could benefit from a rethink and a small metal handle added to either side of the bbq to hold when flipping it over, this should stop thumbs and fingers getting caught (but would make it slightly longer). It NEEDS a case. I'd prefer a hard plastic case that the bbq can slide into over a nylon carry case, but either will do. Make those adjustments and it would be a 5 star review.Maybe I'll carry it along with a pair a leather gloves!

amazing bbq, folds flat for easy storage and the build quality is excellent

Bought it to be a portable bbq, use it at home a lot too. Underneath doesn’t appear to get hot. I keep it in a rucksack with some utensils, charcoal, lighter etc and leave it in the boot of the car.

Tricky..... it's very sturdy and quite heavy, but until you read the instructions, looks complicated to assemble. A possible finger pincher. However, on the plus side, once assembled it's a good portable BBQ with wide grill area. Cleaning is another issue. Overall, a good functioning BBQ but with side issues, but none of them are perfect in our experience.

Perfect for beach bbqs

Brilliant BBQ, lightweight. Plenty of air flow to get the coals going. Cooks brilliantly. Packs up and down with ease.This will be great for our travels. Highly recommend for the price.

Sehr schade, dass der Grill kaputt geliefert wurde. Er ist so nicht verwendbar. Bin sehr enttäuscht. Mal sehen was sich der Hersteller einfallen lässt.Update 08.08.2023: Da der 2. gelieferte Grill wieder an zwei Ecken beschädigt und somit nicht verwendbar ist, liegt es eindeutig am Transport und nicht am Hersteller bzw. der Qualität. Der Grill ist nur dünn verpackt daher die Transportschäden. Bei so einem langen Transport sollte Amazon UK die Verpackung nachbessern.Habe den Hersteller kontaktiert und er hat einen sehr gut verpackten Grill versendet. Und er ist einwandfrei. Vielen Dank an den Mitarbeiter Cez. Sehr kompetent.

It was a perfect size and portable solution for the family bbq. Easy to clean and maintain. Totally satisfied.

Es ist ein schöner Grill, der groß ist aber dennoch kompakt zusammengeklappt werden kann. Leider ist der Mechanismus nach einigen Grill Vorgängen sehr hakelig geworden. Ebenfalls wäre es schön, wenn der Grill eine anpassbare Höhe der Kohle haben würde. Ebenfalls sind die Mechaniken sehr scharfkantig und oben wo der Rost aufliegt sind auch scharfe Kanten vorhanden. Für den Preis finde ich das ist zu wenig.
