I have dish.network dish and cable run of over 100 ft....where do i.place the in-line.amp.....i am guessing it needs to be close to dish?

I did not buy this item for that purpose. I purchased this item to use with one of my TV's connected to Directv. The item did not work and I returned to Amazon for a refund.
