75 Years of DC Comics. The Art of Modern Mythmaking

This is an amazing book that is very comprehensive and well put together. It is pricey but worth every penny.

Book arrived in excellent condition in just two days. Very pleased with the book, very informative with many behind the scenes facts. A large book that I am very much enjoying reading and taking my time doing so.

Well packed from seller, and on time. new item as promised priced great. I've never seen the first edition of the book, but from what I've read this has the same content just slightly smaller print and standard cover. If you're a DC fan this book is awesome for the history. I also have the DC Encyclopedia published by DK which is also a great book, but this one is much more in depth.

Was looking for a coffee table item and this is perfect. Its an incredible dive into the history of a company that has told our modern mythology better than any other.

I was not able to snag a copy of the first printing of this book, which sold out quickly. At twice the size of this new edition, that tremendous volume is literally a coffee table book that is as big as a coffee table! Although reduced in size, this tome still weighs in at nearly 10 pounds! DC's Publisher, author Paul Levitz has been there since his teens. Even in it's smaller format, it's a treasure trove of history, trivia and spectacular artwork. I only have two critiques... 1. In this smaller version the art and copy can often be extremely difficult to view or read. 2. Once again, I had problems with Amazon shipping. And the upper corners were bent! But due to the massive weight of this book, I decided to keep it instead of returning it. I wish Amazon would demand that their shippers take better care of the items they deliver.

When the description says 16 pound book, believe it! Bought as a gift for my son, he loves it! He has enjoyed reading this one tremendously. Should have bought a book stand to go with the gift to begin with. The book stand has made reading the very large book much more enjoyable.

A smaller version of the first huge release, a taschen tradition. I'll say the reduction in size erases the effect of seeing comics pages in what could've been the size of the original art but it still has enough value, and for sure a practicality now. Even though it's made by corporate approval, enough is said so that it does not feel like a Stalinesque coverup of what was done to Superman's creators or what Bob Kane did to the actual Batman creators. Basically, in a way that the taschen Marvel book is not, the DC comics is about a company that has had almost practically the same characters from the start of the comic book to the modern world.

Outstanding compilation of DC throughout its entire history. Beautiful product with outstanding production quality. Complete historical perspective of the origins of the companies that ultimately became today’s DC.

IMPRESIONANTE. Un libro espectacular en una edición de alta calidad a un precio increíble. Un libro de estas características (con tapa dura, 700 páginas a todo color, y toda la historia de DC), tal como está el mercado, debería costar entre 100 y 150 euros. El texto está en inglés pero también está en inglés la edición española, que está agotada en todas partes (aunque la edición española incluía aparte una guía en español de 75 páginas). Muy, muy recomendable para cualquier amante de DC, del mundo del cómic en general o simplemente del arte en viñetas.

O almanaque definitivo, hiper completo e muito bem feito! Item para colecionadores exigentes!

It's almost as big as my entire book shelf but this is an absolutely incredible book. The art is obviously amazing throughout and it's so interesting to flick through the many pages seeing the evolution of one of the great modern art forms. If you are fan of DC, comics, storytelling or just pop culture in general then I very much recommend this book.
