Simple to use - Quality vocal effects!
Love this simple pedal - use it for live sound weekly! - quick adjustments and easy to use. Produces quality vocal effects and is an extreme value. Runs on battery or power supply. Both work great! You will love the sound you get from tape, to room, to pitch correction. Awesome product!

So far so good!
I was nervous when reading the other reviews about this pedal not working at all upon arrival. I ordered two for me end another singer and they both work fine. This pedal requires phantom power from whatever mixer/unit you plug it into. There is some noise coming from the pedal at times and I'm not entirely sure what's causing it... it sounds kind of like a ground loop so there are definitely remedies for it. I will update as I figure out more. So far this pedal is excellent for the price.

Busted after two practices.
This thing sounded awesome for two practices and then completely died after that. TC-Helicon is usually well built, but something about this pedal is very faulty. I would avoid it.

So far a great pedal, will update if I run into any problems.
I'm a decent singer, by no means a pro but I can typically hit the pitches I'm going for. My voice does get a little bit wobbly sometimes while going from pitch to pitch so I was looking for something that would add a bit of reinforcement. If you can't sing to begin with this pedal will not act as some magic to turn you into a good or even decent singer. If you are like most singers and don't always hit every pitch perfectly spot on this will for sure help add some polish. The pitch correction can add a bit of a doubling effect if you are hunting for the correct pitch, but if you are pretty close I would say within 20-40 cents off it isn't noticeable at all. This is with the pitch control knob set at 12 o'clock. The reverb is okay, nothing special though. The reverb that's built into my inexpensive mixer sounds better, but I wasn't purchasing this for the reverb. The delay, especially the tape delay, is surprisingly good. I like that you can control the amout, tap tempo and the feedback. Excellent! The last feature, the tone control, works surprisingly well. There is the standard mode and a less bright mode. Both sound good. I can for sure notice the eq (which is surprisingly spot on to help you vocals cut through a mix). Also the compression and de-essing are effective at adding some refinement. I know that there some people that have had issues with the auto level "feature". It has occasionally messed up a bit, but only when I was already really off. If you are singing clearly and consistently (you have decent mic technique) it works pretty well. The microphone I am using with it is the SM58, I have also tried a small diaphragm condesser. That SDC requires 48v phantom power and even though this oddly delivers 24v (why music tribe?) it still worked without any noticeable issues. I can't tell you if your condesser will work or not, just that mine did. Idk why they only made this 24v when almost anything out there uses 48v. I am a bit nervous about the longevity of this product as there are a ton of people out there having some major issues. I haven't had anything go wrong yet (it's been a month and half). I will update this review if I run into any issues. Update: it's been a few months now and the pedal is still working great!

Nice vocal addition
I bought this for my bands singer, in an attempt to make his voice sound wetter on recordings and live. Mission accomplished! It added a whole new dynamic to his vocals going into the mixer and cut out a whole lot of post editing on recordings. We had tried doing some vocal effects through the mixer like giving him a tiny bit of reverb and delay on the mixer, and that worked ok to a point, we still had to do post editing on recordings. With the micmechanic stomp box though we no longer have to do that, we're able to get the vocal compression and fluidity of his voice into the recordings and don't even use the mixer effects anymore.

Not really the sound I was looking for.
After playing with this for a few months, I find myself only using the Reverb and mostly on the Hall setting. Even then, I'm not really happy with the effect. This is just my personal preference.

I love it!
Very simple, easy to use. Wonderful selection of reverb. I haven’t even messed with the echo yet. The pitch corrector gives me just that little bit of polish I need. All added up, my voice is much better with this gizmo. I was using a really super great processor I’ve used with my steel string guitar that has many parameters. With this little red box I’m good. Yeah the other processor would add just a bit more bass to my voice…..but just don’t need it now….and makes playing out setup easier.

"Duplicator" pedal is better
TLDR: Save some money and get the far superior "Duplicator" instead (it's the green one). I ordered this along with the TC Helicon "Duplicator" pedal to compare side by side and I found as similar as they are (very!) there are some key differences. First of all the Duplicator came in a bundle that included a long XLR cable and a power supply, but necessary items. This Mic Mechanic comes with the pedal only and costs $30 more. (Who wants to try and hunt down the exact right power adapter anyway, not me?) Sound-wise everything on these two pedals is identical except for the "echo" knob vs the "doubling" knob. I wasn't that impressed with the "echo" effects on the Mic Mechanic so the real benefit was coming from everything else available on both such as the reverb options, the subtle pitch correction and the "tone" button which just sweetens everything with some EQ, de-essing and compression. One big problem was that when I activated the "tone" button I got a really high, tinny sound that caused nasty feedback, no matter where I stood with the mic in proximity to the amp. It was sort of doing the opposite of what it was supposed to, it made everything much worse! So switching over to the "Duplicator" first of all the "tone" switched didn't have that nasty feedback problem! So there was my answer right away, the button sweetened the vocals perfectly and sounded like a million bucks. I like the "doubling" effects a lot, they are subtle but only help enhance and thicken your vocals. Like I said, they are much better than the "echo" on the Mic Mechanic. In the end I've been VERY happy with the Duplicator, it makes your voice sound so great and gives you the confidence you are looking for!

Crystal clear vocals
I had to replace a mic mechanic that I’ve had for years that stopped working and I like the upgrades such as now it’s 9v power supply and the on off switch. This pedal gives your voice vocal clarity and sustain, not to mention the very important gate, compression and de easing. I had to eq my PA different because my other pedal broke especially because of the gate using an acoustic guitar, now everything works perfect and clarity, the total sound is awsome, other musicians are amazed at the quality

Gain micro automatique, une facilité
Les effets sont clairs et simples à régler. L'entrée du micro est gérée automatiquement. Il faut faire confiance à TC Helicon. Pas de réglage de gain possible. Le tune est léger et débrayable indépendamment des effets.

Not working
The unit is currently not powering up, despite being plugged in. I plan to check if it operates using a battery; if it still fails to work, I will initiate the return process.
