THIS IS THE BEST MAT!!!
I love this mat!!! I pretty much never write reviews, but this mat deserves it. I’ve had it almost a year now, and it’s perfect. Truly non-slip (whether in hot yoga or not), dries quickly, no weird smells, sturdy, provides good cushioning without being too squishy, no breaking in required. I LOVE it. It’s a very good friend to me. I will say that it IS heavy, but whatever - I got a strap and the weight doesn’t bother me at all, it’s beyond worth it for the complete awesomeness that is this mat. People compliment it and ask about it all the time, and I always tell everyone it’s the best and they should definitely get one. It’s price-friendly, eco-friendly, and perfect. I seriously can’t recommend it highly enough!!

and I love it so far
I’ve been using this mat for about a week, and I love it so far. I had been using a towel with my old mat because my hands would sweat and for the extra cushion, but with this mat it has both the traction and the cushion so that is wholly unneeded. The only down side so far is that it is harder to roll up and fit into my yoga bag & it’s fairly heavy. But the experience while practicing far outweighs the negatives. It feels great know that it is non toxic and biodegradable!

I recommend this mat to everyone
I really can't recommend this mat highly enough (and I never write reviews of things). I've had my mat for just under a year and I practice about 5 times a week, hot vinyasa yoga, hatha, and other styles, and my mat is still doing great. Yes, it's heavier than other mats, but I love this thickness of this mat because it's comfortable and doesn't bother my knees. I also went on a yoga retreat in Central America and traveled around with this mat just fine. When I get really, really sweaty, like puddles are forming, I do put a small, regular towel under my hands to avoid slipping, but other than that, the grip is great and I don't worry about slipping. And I just love cork and will never buy another kind of mat--it's antimicrobial, it never smells, it's, well...basically perfect! :)

Good quality but I’d be happier with something different
Great quality mat. I’m giving it 3 stars because I could have gotten something else at this price point and been more satisfied. I thought I tbe able to use without a yoga towel but I definitely need one. Sweat piles up on the mat. You won’t don’t slip on it, so that’s good. The grip is decent when dry and great once wet. It also feels very smooth Cons: thick and kinda stiff, it only rolls up for me corknside out, without being just too massive to comfortably hold under my arm. It’s also about 10 lbs after a hot yoga class. I just think I could have got a less bulky mat if this mat does need a towel as well

Supportive and grippy
I've had this mat for about a month and so far it has been great for my home practice. It's soft/thick enough that my knees don't hurt even though I have wood floors. It gives a great grip, especially since I spritz a little water with essential oil where my hands and feet usually go. I can sweat a bit doing yoga, but the sweat isn't pouring off me like it would if I were doing hot yoga, so while I would say it does get grippier when you sweat, I can't say what it would be like in an intense class. It is much heavier than a normal mat, but that doesn't affect me since I use a different mat to carry to classes. The only real downside I would say is the smell. The first couple days I had it, the smell was so strong it made my whole apartment smell like rubber. I don't have anywhere outside to hang it, which is a bummer, because I'm sure that would have helped. The smell has mellowed out, but if my face is on the mat, it does still have a rubbery smell--another reason I spritz with water and essential oil, to mask the smell. This mat is pretty expensive, but if you're committed to a home practice then I would recommend.

LOVE IT SO FAR!
So far, I absolutely love this mat! Great grip, cushion, & seems to be holding up well (I use it once a week). Smells wonderful (light scent of wood from cork). I am very sensitive to smells and was concerned the rubber smell might be over powering. I dont notice a rubber smell at all when practicing. The mat is well made, seems to be high quality, and is heavy duty. (Please note, if you are looking for a light weight yoga mat, this one is probably not for you. The heavier weight doesnt bother me in the least.) Searched high & low for a truly non-toxic yoga mat (most claim this but made of plastics...) & was ready to give up before I found this one. So glad I did!

No grip
No grip with this thing. This is ridiculous. Used for over a month and it’s not “broken” in.

Too slippery :(
After all the amazing reviews, I was SO excited to receive this mat! It is heavy, but I thought with all the great things I'd heard about it, it would be worth the extra weight. I brought it to my heated yoga class. At the beginning of class, when the mat was dry, I slipped all over. I tried it with my mat towel. The towel slipped. I thought maybe I just need it to be wet. When it was wet, I slipped even more. The towel slipped even more. I thought maybe I was just crazy, so I loaned it to my 13 year old daughter thinking maybe she would like it. Didn't tell her anything about it. I watched her in class struggling, and after class she said, "Mom, I hate this mat. My feet kept sliding and then when I tried to slide them back my feet made farting noises." On top of that, the cork is cracked in several places on one end after being used twice and stored rolled up as it arrived. I am super disappointed with this mat and wonder if I just got a defective one? Hoping that amazon or the manufacturer will let me return it.
