Highly recommended, excellent performance, wonderful look, great value for money, excellent customer service.
The quality of this bluetooth speaker is incredible! I own two (black and brown) and I am very happy with the purchase. The speaker is powerful (especially considering the size) and it produces a crisp sound with no distortion and no vibration even at the highest volume setting. Highs and lows are very good and bass is deep. The speaker pairs easily and fast with any bluetooth device. If you pair it with your phone or a bluetooth mp3/mp4 player, you can control the volume and change tracks through your device, without having to get up and do it manually using the speaker controls. The speaker looks GREAT, and it has a wonderful vintage/retro style. It comes in black or dark brown leather and both versions look amazing. I particularly like the gold/brass controls, which look and feel great and are very responsive. You can tell it is a well-made product by the fact that in high volumes or when playing tracks that are a bit heavy on the bass, there are no vibrations coming from the speaker (always a problem with low quality speakers, some of which are actually much more expensive than this one). The speaker also comes with a retro-looking AUX cable for connecting devices that do not have a bluetooth (an added bonus, since you can increase the number of playback devices you can connect to the speaker). Regarding the seller, they have an incredible customer service support. They answered all my questions very quickly and dealt with every issue I had in a professional and prompt way. Highly recommended, can't beat the price and quality. I will be buying a couple more in the future to give as gifts to loved ones.

Great sounding, easy to use, and surprisingly deep
I'm very pleased with this little speaker. It can get as loud as you could possibly need it, the sound quality is decently good, and for not having a subwoofer, the bass is surprisingly strong. In fact, I primarily bought this as a makeshift bass amp to plug into my mini-amp (it works perfectly for my purposes and is actually really "bass-y"), but I ended up using it to just listen to music and eventually watch movies/ play games. They say it isn't "portable," which I assume just means you can't unplug it and take it to somewhere without an outlet. However, it's small, lightweight, and easy to set up enough that I find myself just carrying it wherever I go in my apartment. I ended up dropping it from ~5ft high while doing so, causing buzzing issues; however, just opening it up and tightening some screws made it perfectly fine again. In regards to other features, the Bluetooth is super easy to use and instantly connects whenever it turns on. The playback control buttons on top do work (only in Bluetooth mode, unfortunately not via wired connections). Plus, I get compliments from friends who think it looks great, and I agree with them. I'm super jazzed with this speaker and can't think of any better option for the price.

Just What I Needed
I dislike the sound quality coming out of my computer speakers, so I looked for a unit that would take over that job. This works out quite well. The build quality is excellent, the sound quality is very good (mono, not stereo), and the layout and features are very nice. It came with a 3.5mm aux cable to hook up between my computer headphone jack and the Tewell. The volume can get very loud, yet still clear. It can get distorted if the computer volume level is all the way up, but just pull it back a bit, and it helps. Two minor quibbles keeping this from a 5-star review: While the Tewell has Bluetooth and it works very well and plays audio from my iPhone with ease, when I turn the Tewell on, it defaults to the Bluetooth. Since I use the aux connection 90% of the time, this is a minor annoyance to have to manually switch every time -- it just requires pressing the Bluetooth button, but it would be cool if it just remembered the last setting. Also, the BT is incoming only -- not outgoing. It would be nice to have the BT broadcast to my headphones, but maybe this isn't technically possible. I don't know. It just means that I need to set up BT to my headphones through the computer each time when I don't want the Tewell playing through the speaker. Quibble #2 is no headphone jack -- same reason BT. To use my headphone, I need to disconnect the Tewell from the computer and plug in my headphones. Again, these are both minor annoyances that are probably my problem and not Tewell's. Overall, if you just want a nice-sounding (mono) speaker for playing tunes at your desk or in the garage (easily portable), I really like this. And it looks good too.

So good I bought another one!
I bought a Tewell several months back to have for a speaker in the garage. This thing sounded so good and plently loud, I knew at the time I made a good purcahse. I just received my second one to go up to our cabin. I'm playing it now..... Both were also very easy to set-up; in fact no set up was required really - just plug in, pull up the bluethooth setting on the iphone and bang, it's off an running. What I really like about this speaker (aside from ease of set-up, loudness and overall sound/frequency response) is: -It has a real concentric volume pot to adjust volume! Wierd! Huge priority when I was looking at a speaker in the first place. I HATE up/down arrows to adjust volume. 1, You can't ever see them. 2, They are slow to respond and sloppy. A real knob was a must! This has it and is very smooth to boot. I needed the ability to quickly reach over, without looking and turn the speaker down "in real time"; the only way to achive that is with a real knob. Did I say I like the traditional concentric type knob/pot? -It has a real toggle power switch!! Wow, will the wonders ever cease?! A real honest-to-goodness power switch that flips on or off. Simple yet effective. You can look and immeditatly see the status. No "slop" in powering up with push button types where you have to hold down for 5 seconds and hope it comes on, hold and push down for another 5 seconds to turn off. ARRGGG, those suck! It lights up immediately upon the flip of the on switch to let you know its ready. -Lastly, it is a cool looking retro style speaker with a 60's style face cloth that reminds me of an old VOX guitar amplifer. Both mine are covered in the brown "leather" to furthur add to the retro/guitar amp look. all this combined with the chrome toggle switch and knob make this a functional and attractive package. Its very sturdy and fells "quality", not cheap. It has some weight to it and is NOT portable as it must have AC mains pluged in to function (or 14 VDC input). So this is not the speaker for you if you require it to go portable without power. The bass frequencies are great for such a "small" speaker and the port on the rear really is functional as you can fell it move air on certain songs that have alot of low frequencies. The only thing that may make this perfect overall is if it had at least a 2-band parametric EQ... But hey, what do you want for $50?! A+, 5 stars!!!

Five stars with the caveat of "for the price and size" and extra points for style
I frankly bought this mostly for style. I wanted something that could sit on my kitchen counter and look cool, stay connected to my Echo Dot via the jack, and produce decent music while cooking. I also wanted to be able to switch to Bluetooth and stream music and podcasts from my iPhone. This does all that! Let's get this out of the way: There are limitation to how much decent bass a speaker can have. Small speakers can only do so much. So, expecting this to sound like a bigger unit is futile. It sounds great for its size, and for the use I put it to. I would not want it as my main source of music, but it's nice to have and I absolutely love the look. When I stream music from my iPhone, I can adjust the equalizer on the phone to get better sound through this speaker. I like that it stays on; it doesn't "go to sleep" on its own. You have to manually switch it off. This makes it ideal for use with the Echo Dot, since the Alexa voice responds to your voice commands, and a unit that the auto-sleeps results in no sound. I also like that I can push a button on top to switch to Bluetooth without having to unplug the cable to the Echo Dot. The best all-in-one Bluetooth speaker I have heard is the Klipsch KMC-3. Klipsch KMC 3 Wireless Music System with Bluetooth, Black I own one and it sounds fantastic, but it's bigger, heavier, more expensive, and a modern style. It also puts itself to sleep. It's not really fair to compare the Tewell to the Klipsch, but that's the standard I use. In a head to head comparison of sound, I'd give the Klipsch 5 stars and the Tewell 3. But I'm giving the star rating based on the Tewell's size and price. I don't think you can do much better. Be aware this unit must be plugged in to a power source; it's not rechargeable or battery powered. If you want great sound, get the Klipsch KMC-3. If you want a cool retro unit with good sound for its size and price, get the Tewell. Or, do like I did and get both!

Suspect Sound, Super Cool Looking
I've been searching for a bluetooth speaker to add to my whiskey cabinet. I wanted something that looked really cool first but actually sounded decent too. The retro design caught my eye, it was on sale, and the reviews said the sound was pretty good. So about that sound... I plugged it into the wall, connected quickly to my phone (this was easy compared to some other bluetooth speakers) and fired up The Elovaters on Spotify. First thing I noticed when I turned on the speaker - there's a faint amplifier type noise floor with what can only be described as a guitar effect like heavy reverb to the bluetooth connection ping. Have they taken the "retro" to heart and I'm about to listen to an AM radio? Music starts, it's thin, flat, heavy reverb and just plan garbage. Check reviews again, see a few similar comments and that it "resolved" itself. Having worked in digital audio development for many years (JBL, H/K, Line 6), I'm thinking maybe this little amp needs to burn in to get going??? I'm also wondering about quality control on the factory floor... After a couple days and probably 6-8 hours of use, it's still less than acceptable sound. There's a relatively high noise floor that's annoying. It sounds a bit better if I put the volume on my phone all the way up. The bluetooth connection is noisy as well. I've got about 25 days left to return. We'll see.

STILL GREAT for the Alexa NEW Echo Show-2, and Great for the Hard of Hearing!
UPDATE DECEMBER 9, 2018: I guess it's been just less than a year since I bought my TEWELL speaker, and I also bought another Echo Show, the new one, Model #2. So I moved my original Show and speaker into the living room and bought my second TEWELL speaker for the new Echo Show-2 and I have to say I love it every bit as much as I love the first speaker! While the new Show-2 has improved audio, I'm still Hard of Hearing (HOH) and this new TEWELL speaker helps me hear more clearly and louder than the Show can pump out. Additionally, I can put the Show in one part of my bedroom and put the TEWELL speaker near the bathroom so that I can be sure to hear what I'm listening to wherever I am! Well done, TEWELL guys and gals! Well done! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I researched for a couple of weeks to see what bluetooth speaker would work best for me with an Echo Show. I didn't want a portable one, but one I could move easily from my bedroom to the bathroom: I like to listen to NPR while shaving! The RetroRock description didn't say anything about the Echo Show, but it did have favorable reviews for the Dot. I took a chance and ordered it. When it arrived I tried to set it up with the Echo Show and could not get it to work. I was irritated. I sent the Tewell folks an email complaining. Then on Amazon Help I found out that the Show had it's own settings and you had to swipe downward on the screen to get there and set up bluetooth! I did that and it was up and running in less than a minute! So, two things you need to know besides that little gem of info - First of all, this is the best small speaker I have ever had! I am hard of hearing (HOH). I hate to wear my hearing aids at home so I turn the speakers up louder. But with the Echo Show that didn't always make it more clear, just louder. With the RetroRock I just flick one switch and bluetooth comes on in a couple of seconds and it is not just louder, but with a much greater clarity than with the Echo Show's speakers. For me, with my HOH, the clarity of the frequencies makes this one terrific speaker! The other thing to know is how great the Tewell Support is. Incredible. They did not even ask me to go through a set up procedure, merely offered to send me a brand new one free of charge! That knocked my socks off! I really sincerely can recommend this little speaker!

Great speaker with good looks and a good price, great customer support
I bought the speaker to listen to podcasts and music in my room and it does the job tremendously well. The styling looks good with my decor and the speaker pairs quickly and easily with my phone and laptop. The volume can be controlled through the broadcasting device or with the volume wheel on the speaker itself. The package included a nice braided 3.5 mm aux cable to plug in devices that don't have bluetooth as well which is a nice touch. The audio is nice and loud and has a noticeably richer sound than from my phone or laptop speakers. Overall very satisfied with my purchase. One note: About 11 months after I purchased the speaker the AC adapter had some kind of issue and stopped working, the device would not power on. I contacted the company thinking to just buy a replacement adapter and they ended up shipping me an entirely new speaker within days, no questions asked and no charge. Wonderful customer service! I don't think this will be an issue for most but it's always nice to know that the company stands behind their products.
