Great speaker with good looks and a good price, great customer support
I bought the speaker to listen to podcasts and music in my room and it does the job tremendously well. The styling looks good with my decor and the speaker pairs quickly and easily with my phone and laptop. The volume can be controlled through the broadcasting device or with the volume wheel on the speaker itself. The package included a nice braided 3.5 mm aux cable to plug in devices that don't have bluetooth as well which is a nice touch. The audio is nice and loud and has a noticeably richer sound than from my phone or laptop speakers. Overall very satisfied with my purchase. One note: About 11 months after I purchased the speaker the AC adapter had some kind of issue and stopped working, the device would not power on. I contacted the company thinking to just buy a replacement adapter and they ended up shipping me an entirely new speaker within days, no questions asked and no charge. Wonderful customer service! I don't think this will be an issue for most but it's always nice to know that the company stands behind their products.

So good I bought another one!
I bought a Tewell several months back to have for a speaker in the garage. This thing sounded so good and plently loud, I knew at the time I made a good purcahse. I just received my second one to go up to our cabin. I'm playing it now..... Both were also very easy to set-up; in fact no set up was required really - just plug in, pull up the bluethooth setting on the iphone and bang, it's off an running. What I really like about this speaker (aside from ease of set-up, loudness and overall sound/frequency response) is: -It has a real concentric volume pot to adjust volume! Wierd! Huge priority when I was looking at a speaker in the first place. I HATE up/down arrows to adjust volume. 1, You can't ever see them. 2, They are slow to respond and sloppy. A real knob was a must! This has it and is very smooth to boot. I needed the ability to quickly reach over, without looking and turn the speaker down "in real time"; the only way to achive that is with a real knob. Did I say I like the traditional concentric type knob/pot? -It has a real toggle power switch!! Wow, will the wonders ever cease?! A real honest-to-goodness power switch that flips on or off. Simple yet effective. You can look and immeditatly see the status. No "slop" in powering up with push button types where you have to hold down for 5 seconds and hope it comes on, hold and push down for another 5 seconds to turn off. ARRGGG, those suck! It lights up immediately upon the flip of the on switch to let you know its ready. -Lastly, it is a cool looking retro style speaker with a 60's style face cloth that reminds me of an old VOX guitar amplifer. Both mine are covered in the brown "leather" to furthur add to the retro/guitar amp look. all this combined with the chrome toggle switch and knob make this a functional and attractive package. Its very sturdy and fells "quality", not cheap. It has some weight to it and is NOT portable as it must have AC mains pluged in to function (or 14 VDC input). So this is not the speaker for you if you require it to go portable without power. The bass frequencies are great for such a "small" speaker and the port on the rear really is functional as you can fell it move air on certain songs that have alot of low frequencies. The only thing that may make this perfect overall is if it had at least a 2-band parametric EQ... But hey, what do you want for $50?! A+, 5 stars!!!

Quality speaker with good sound, not really worth $100 IMO though..
It's "good", but not "great". I'm giving this speaker 4 stars, because while it IS very nice and appears to be of good quality, it's NOT $100.00 worth of great. The value for money just isn't there for me. The sound quality is "good", not what I'd call "high fidelity" though. It sounds comparable to my Altec Lansing portable Bluetooth speaker that I use at the office. The design and controls on top of the speaker are really nice though, there's an actual volume adjust knob and a dedicated on/off toggle switch. Very nice features and nice touches that earn high marks with me. What REALLY sold me on this speaker was that it's for home use and can be plugged into a wall outlet. I wanted something that would be nice to flip on in the evenings, put on some music, or listen to a podcast while in the recliner. This is perfect for that. Again, the cost is a little steep for what it is and what it does, I'd feel more comfortable in the $50-$60 price range - but I'm still keeping it because I like it.

Maybe it's the best home speaker under $100
I bought it because a review of Echo Dot mentioned this one. My wife & I love this speaker, not only works with my Echo Dot, but also my computer, iPhone. Pros: 1. Loudness: It's loud enough to drown out every one in a decent sized room, I could still hear the music 10 meters away with 70% volume on speaker, 100% on my iPhone. 2. Mid & Highs: It has clear and crisp mid & high range, even at the 100% volume. But the highs would be a little muddy while playing some specific songs, which is nothing for most users. 3. Bass: Honestly, it's the most powerful and deepest bass that I've ever listened from a speaker under $100. 4. Outlook: It looks really nice with wood structure and leather wrap, retro look matches almost all decor. 5. Bluetooth & Aux input: Pair with my Echo Dot and iphone quickly and stably, it also comes with a nice braided aux cord which can be used with devices without bluetooth. Cons: 1. Plugged in:It has no battery, and need plugged in while using, I think it's designed for keeping in home and going with Echo & Echo Dot which is also need plugged in. 2. No microphone: Unlike some other bluetooth speakers, TEWELL Retrorock has no built-in microphone, so I cannot use it as speakerphone, but it's ok for me. I recommend to the guys who need a stationary speaker for Echo, cellphone, computer and so on, it's great as a gift.

STILL GREAT for the Alexa NEW Echo Show-2, and Great for the Hard of Hearing!
UPDATE DECEMBER 9, 2018: I guess it's been just less than a year since I bought my TEWELL speaker, and I also bought another Echo Show, the new one, Model #2. So I moved my original Show and speaker into the living room and bought my second TEWELL speaker for the new Echo Show-2 and I have to say I love it every bit as much as I love the first speaker! While the new Show-2 has improved audio, I'm still Hard of Hearing (HOH) and this new TEWELL speaker helps me hear more clearly and louder than the Show can pump out. Additionally, I can put the Show in one part of my bedroom and put the TEWELL speaker near the bathroom so that I can be sure to hear what I'm listening to wherever I am! Well done, TEWELL guys and gals! Well done! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I researched for a couple of weeks to see what bluetooth speaker would work best for me with an Echo Show. I didn't want a portable one, but one I could move easily from my bedroom to the bathroom: I like to listen to NPR while shaving! The RetroRock description didn't say anything about the Echo Show, but it did have favorable reviews for the Dot. I took a chance and ordered it. When it arrived I tried to set it up with the Echo Show and could not get it to work. I was irritated. I sent the Tewell folks an email complaining. Then on Amazon Help I found out that the Show had it's own settings and you had to swipe downward on the screen to get there and set up bluetooth! I did that and it was up and running in less than a minute! So, two things you need to know besides that little gem of info - First of all, this is the best small speaker I have ever had! I am hard of hearing (HOH). I hate to wear my hearing aids at home so I turn the speakers up louder. But with the Echo Show that didn't always make it more clear, just louder. With the RetroRock I just flick one switch and bluetooth comes on in a couple of seconds and it is not just louder, but with a much greater clarity than with the Echo Show's speakers. For me, with my HOH, the clarity of the frequencies makes this one terrific speaker! The other thing to know is how great the Tewell Support is. Incredible. They did not even ask me to go through a set up procedure, merely offered to send me a brand new one free of charge! That knocked my socks off! I really sincerely can recommend this little speaker!

Suspect Sound, Super Cool Looking
I've been searching for a bluetooth speaker to add to my whiskey cabinet. I wanted something that looked really cool first but actually sounded decent too. The retro design caught my eye, it was on sale, and the reviews said the sound was pretty good. So about that sound... I plugged it into the wall, connected quickly to my phone (this was easy compared to some other bluetooth speakers) and fired up The Elovaters on Spotify. First thing I noticed when I turned on the speaker - there's a faint amplifier type noise floor with what can only be described as a guitar effect like heavy reverb to the bluetooth connection ping. Have they taken the "retro" to heart and I'm about to listen to an AM radio? Music starts, it's thin, flat, heavy reverb and just plan garbage. Check reviews again, see a few similar comments and that it "resolved" itself. Having worked in digital audio development for many years (JBL, H/K, Line 6), I'm thinking maybe this little amp needs to burn in to get going??? I'm also wondering about quality control on the factory floor... After a couple days and probably 6-8 hours of use, it's still less than acceptable sound. There's a relatively high noise floor that's annoying. It sounds a bit better if I put the volume on my phone all the way up. The bluetooth connection is noisy as well. I've got about 25 days left to return. We'll see.

My mom loves it
My mom needed a replacement when her tv ears bean speaker quit working. She’s hard of hearing and having soundbars don’t work as they sit too far away, so she likes a speaker by her chair. I searched around for a Bluetooth speaker that would fit on her ottoman and this looked good. She absolutely loves the buttons so she can quickly change the volume with a knob. The other essential feature was for it to be a wall plug. It’s compact, quick to connect, easy to use for an older woman. And this was half the price of a new tv ears which had mixed reviews. She’s so happy with this, the retro look was a bonus.

Perfect for Desktop PC
This thing is just perfect for what I want. I had a few requirements: 1) MUST have a physical knob for volume control. 2) MUST have physical buttons for play/pause, next, and prev. 3) Must look sweet. :) 4) Sound good. I didn't HAVE to have Bluetooth, but it's nice not having the extra cord, and it enables the control buttons, so yay. Kind of amazing to me how few items fit these simple criteria, especially the first two. Seems like designers are forgetting that there is more to life than touch/tap. I've had this for a couple weeks now, and I use it during the day while coding. Sound is more than adequate. It looks great. It pairs easily with my PC, and it controls Spotify on my desktop through Windows 10. So I'm all set! Looks great, feels great. And all for a super reasonable price. There are some really nice but pricey and over-featured options available. I really don't need a color screen, much less a touch screen. I don't need multi-room, etc. Just a great desktop Bluetooth speaker with physical controls.
