Best-value dog beds ever
Pro-tip for people with large dogs, a lot of dogs, or dogs with joint issues: rather than spend tons of money on expensive, poor-quality dog beds, just buy a mattress topper like this and cut it into custom dog beds. I personally waited for the 3in twin topper to go down to about $30, cut it in thirds, made covers out of a waterproof mattress cover (although I've since learned you can buy waterproof dog bed covers), and wrapped the sections in old flat sheets until I make fancy outer covers. For the price of one decent bed from Petco, I got three out of this. As for the quality of the topper itself, it seems really great. After letting it lay out to expand and air out on a table for a couple days (just me waiting for crafting materials to come in, it didn't necessarily need the extra time), it seemed to come up just a couple inches short of regulation twin size, but that seems pretty normal for toppers. The plushness feels really good, and takes a moment to regain shape as per memory foam. The smell does seem to linger, but it's no more strong than an actual new bed, and after airing it out and then putting mattress covers, sheets, blankets, etc, on, it shouldn't be noticeable to a human (it certainly doesn't bother my dogs). I also keep one of these makeshift dog beds under my desk, and have noticed that it does seem to get rather warm when I rest my feet on it (because it is super comfy).

Great Egg Crate Foam Mattress Topper...I can sleep again!
I bought two of these mattress toppers in twin size to use on top of old mattresses at a cabin in Maine. They arrived wrapped up, but a little bigger than I thought, so I only packed one. It worked out very well. I am a light sleeper & worried about tossing & turning all night on an uncomfortable mattress in a cabin with little privacy. Instead I put in ear plugs and snuggled down in comfort on the soft and fluffy mattress pad. Fhat.pad was left as.a gift to the cabin. But I liked it so much I put the other twin on my half of our new firm king size foam mattress. Magically I started sleeping much better. No more turning to get comfortable, no more leg pain in the morning. I was able to sleep through the night. This topper makes a firm mattress softer and alleviates pressure points. The pads arrived partially wrapped in plastic so I left them out in our entryway for 4 days before we went to Maine. That allowed them to outgas most of the noxious foam odor they have. The second pad was thouroughly aired in my sunroom for a few days. I am sensitive to smells and I can say that you really do have to air out any new foam a few days before use. I also use the topper under a mattress pad. With the 2" foam I was able to use our deep pocket sheets. To those who don't have a good washable mattress pad, just get one now. I would never put sheets right over a mattress or foam topper. I loved the nice packaging and the sweet note from the company. I am thinking of ordering another topper from this company for one of our other beds. Maybe I'll try the 4" foam next!

Good and bad
I've had the 2 inch for about a week now. Before you open the box decide where you'll be laying it down to fully de-compress which takes roughly 24hrs. You need to be gentle with it when you take it out of the box and begin to unroll it while it is still in the plastic sheeting. It comes folded in half and then rolled up so it looks small. I gently cut the bottom of the sheeting and it started to expand a little. I slit it open along the edge of one side to let it expand. When I tried to separate the foam (it is folded in half) I found it sticks together. If you're not careful it can rip. I did it a little at a time every 10 minutes or so as it was expanding. Eventually I cut along the other side of the plastic sheeting and unfolded the plastic which made a large sheet of plastic that was protecting it from my living-room floor. You need to let it lay somewhere to fully expand so plan in advance where you will do that...best to have a spare room away from kids or pets. You could put it on top of an old blanket or a drop cloth if you don't want to take the time to open the plastic the way I did though. When I put it on the bed the next day, I was surprised how the 2 inches made it actually harder for me to get into my bed so BEWARE of that if you have thick mattresses or are buying it for an older person. I really can't sit on the edge of the bed anymore like to put on socks without a struggle. I'm 5'3" It seems pretty comfortable compared to having the mattress poking me....but then again, I finally got around to rotating the mattress and that could have helped too. I put this foam pad over my regular mattress pad. I knew there wasn't going to be enough room to put it underneath and I saw some questions about the product where people wondered that. There are no instructions on the subject in the box but there are 3 blank greeting cards in there? One is a thankyou card you write your own message and two Hello you blank cards. They seem very high quality for cards but without envelopes they are pretty useless....and who really sends out those cards anymore? I felt a little guilty throwing them out but I am trying to fight my clutter habits. Although I guess it was a nice gesture, it seems wasteful to include them. Laying on the bed feels nice. I do sink in after a few minutes but it is still comfortable UNTIL I start tossing and turning which I do often. My problem is it somehow makes it a little harder to support myself with my arm to flip myself. I've been having some shoulder pain in the mornings and it could be that or many other things but the truth is every night I start off saying this is really nice and every time I get out of bed I say I don't like it. It is a cheap fix to an uncomfortable mattress. Because it's hard for me to dig my heels in or my arm into the mattress to turn myself, I can only guess that is why some people say their pad ripped. Just wanted to give a review because I find reviews very helpful when shopping. Something to consider if you are buying this for an older person or someone with a disability.

Didn't expand properly on one side, stays compressed too long
I purchased this mattress topper to replace another one that made me so hot that I basically wasn't sleeping. I thought it was just perimenopause, but thought I'd blame my topper before I blamed my hormones, and as it turns out, I was correct. After reading a ton of reviews, I opted for this product because of the lack of mention of people sleeping hot. I saw several reviews mentioning that the topper didn't fully expand, but I figured I'd take my chances. Note that I've used memory foam toppers for every mattress I've owned over the last 20+ years, so I'm not inexperienced with how they feel and behave. When it arrived, I was impressed by how compact it was, but surprised by its light weight. I removed it from the box and bag and allowed it to expand over a period of about a week in my guest room because I was too tired and lazy from lack of sleep to strip the bed. Once I did finally get it on the bed, I was again surprised that the feel of this topper was much firmer than any others I'd previously owned. The only way I can describe it is that lying down on it initially feels like you're resting on top of a block of floral foam. If you've ever felt that substance before, it's quite firm - almost hard - but then gives way to gentle pressure. The difference is that floral foam will stay indented, and this topper returns to its original shape... ...or at least, it's supposed to. I've found that this pad tends to stay very compressed and flat in any areas where there is a significant amount of pressure (so for me, as a back and side sleeper, under my bottom/back, or under my hips/shoulders) for significantly longer, meaning that if I sleep in one area on my back for a while, then roll over onto my side, the divot from my back sleeping makes my body want to roll back into it. It's very strange, and I've never seen memory foam react so slowly before. It does a decent job at cushioning pressure points, but the area under my butt gets so compressed (like compressed to the point that it feels like it's fresh out of the package) that I might as well just be lying directly on the mattress itself. The other issue is that there is a portion of one side of the topper that has a bulge between 2 slopes, as well as a pointy part that sticks out away from the edge of the topper. It's difficult to explain, but it's definitely a manufacturing defect. It took me several days to notice it because I initially thought it was just a depression where I'd rested my knee near the edge of the bed, but when it persisted, I took a closer look and realized that it was an issue with the topper itself. And now the thing essentially can't be returned because it will never fit back inside the box it came in. On the plus side, I sleep SO much cooler than I did with the last traditional memory foam topper. Once upon a time I had a wonderful topper from Costco that didn't make me sweat like a wh*re in church, but every one since then has increased my sleep temperature to some degree (degree...get it? Get it?) so in that regard, it's...comfortable? Would I buy it again? Uh, no. Manufacturing and performance are questionably low, but if I ever need a piece of foam to mold to the shape of something, never to return to its original form for shipping or something, this would be my first choice.

Complicated opinion
So here’s a detailed & honest review: I got the 3inch one for a full sized mattress in October - put it together in November - used it for 2ish months and took it off in January - tested my bed back without it to now - here are thoughts by end of February Taking it out the box was fine, took 24-48hours to expand, didn’t smell weird or anything However in last 2 photos you can see it didn’t quite expand to a complete rectangle and some edges were slanted Initially I got this because I had horrible back pain and was trying to figure out how to sleep better - in the 2ish months I slept on it, my back pain got worse - taking it off I’m just back where I started. Here’s what I think was the issue - you can see in some photos it dents down when you put weight on it (obviously this happens) , I loved the feeling of it , it was comfy , but as soon as I slept on it so my weight was on it for hours at a time, the indents became kinda like crevices that I would get stuck in, and I move around alot in my sleep so I would end up sleeping all wonky and lumpy on it after my body shape indented and then wouldn’t change - (I hope this makes sense) I think the 3inch maybe is the issue and with a 1 inch or something it would allow you to move with the indents more for support verses get stuck in the indents and no correct support. Not sure though. Obviously I can’t return it now and I have no idea on how to get it back into a box haha, so I don’t know what to do with it yet its just shoved into a closet, also sucks I’m back to square one on how to make my bed comfier for my back pain (Also other details: the bed I have is from the same company! It’s the 12inch green tea infused one, Only 4/5 years old (I think it’s just too stiff for me) - & I weigh 150 if you’re wondering the weight on the topper) Anyways this was a lot of information, but I hope some of this helps anyone

Great Mattress Topper!!
I recently started tossing and turning at night on my mattress, so I knew it was time for an upgrade. This was the perfect investment! I ordered the 3-inch full sized mattress topper, and it came in a very nice Zinus brand box. I thought about subtracting one star just because they took about a week and 3 days to finally ship it but once it shipped it got to me in two days. I just thought it was weird that when it got to me, I looked on the product page again and it said they had prime 2-day shipping with no processing time. Just watch their page and order it when they have the actual Prime option. So my review is more like 4 and a half stars. When I took it out of the box, I found that you don't need scissors to take the plastic wrap off the topper, you can just roll it out. I left the pad in an empty room in my apartment with the door closed and the windows open for about 3 nights. It did smell up the apartment with that "new memory foam" smell, but dissipated after 72 hours since it was in a well-ventilated area. Also I flipped it over after a day so both sides of it could air out as well as sprayed Febreeze Fabric Refresher all over it. No matter what memory foam mattress topper you get, whether it's this one or a high-end one, they always come with that "fresh out of the factory" memory foam smell, so any reviewers complaining about it may not have known what they were getting in to when they bought this. This topper did expand to my full bed size and is about true to the 3-inch thickness, maybe a tad short of a full 3 inches tall and about an inch short of the full-size matress length. It is very high-quality memory foam, much better than I was expecting, actually. It's heavy but bounces right back to it's normal shape and height after sleeping on it all night. To conclude, I've always had 1 or 2 inch mattress toppers before, just because I never wanted to splurge on a 3-inch one that usually sells for upwards off $100+. But this one is a great price for the quality. No more tossing and turning at night!
