Works well, Anler has come a long ways

I’ll get it right out there — I love Anker’s products. Each one always has a great build, works well, and does exactly what I need it to. I’d say that the PowerPort 2 Elite does all that. Now, one of the first things I noticed about this is that it’s a bit bigger than previous generations of the PowerPort 1 or 2. However, the plug is placed higher up on the body than before, so that means more space to plug something else into the outlet above. Another nice upgrade is that the folding plug is much easier to pull down than the old one — a much needed improvement. Additionally, there was a design change to switch from a glossy finish to a matte finish. This way, it won’t scratch as easily, and personally, it just looks better. How about the actual functions of the wall plug? Well, the standout feature is Anker’s Power IQ and VoltageBoost. These technologies detect how much current is needed by the devices (aka an iPad needing more than an iPhone), and then deliver that needed power to the device. The technology is quite a bit more complicated than that, but the basic idea is that your device charges at its fastest possible speed. Except, however, for QuickCharge devices — the PowerPort 2 Elite doesn’t support Qualcomm’s QuickCharge. Aside from that, there’s not too much to say about this wall plug. It charges up to two devices, at their fastest possible speeds. The build quality is excellent, and the heavier than normal weight adds to that. At the $13 price tag, it’s a pretty decent price too! If you’re looking for a great travel charger for your devices, then this is a good one to get.

This is my third (1 car and 2 dual wall) USB charger from Anker. I love this one as much as the others. I primarily use it to charge an iPad and iPhone, but will occasionally use it to charge other devices (Fitbit, Kindle, etc.) It will work with any device as long as you have the correct USB cable. It does a great job of quickly charging both devices at the same time. The best I can tell, it rapidly charges the device to approximately 95% then trickle charges until the device is 100% charged and then stops so your device isn’t overcharged. This charger feels built more solidly than the earlier model I own. So I take this one with me when I travel. The folding plug makes it easy to store. My only complaint, and it is a slight one, is the blue power light that stays on. It doesn’t seem to serve any purpose. The previous model I have of this device doesn’t have any lights. The light is fairly bright in a dark bedroom so I would recommend having it somewhere the light won’t bother you if your like me and prefer a bedroom as dark as possible. This is a minor issue to me and I felt it wasn’t worth a star. Bottom line: Anker makes top quality chargers/cables/screen protectors and more. You might spend a little more for their product but it is always worth it for the quality and support you get from Anker. I highly recommend this product.

I think so far, so good! It’s a nice little charging block and I know it has plenty of bad reviews because it overheats and almost catches fire but what I do to help other people this is what I do I unplug it and put it off to the side when I’m done with that and then if I have to charge my iPhone or iPad I plug it back in when I’m done and I keep an eye on It! The PowerPort 2 Elite is a beautiful charger from Anker. Upon first glance one can’t help but notice its resemblance to the Apple MacBook charger. This makes it feel right at home with other Apple devices. The charger feels light in the hand but solid. Judging from the weight of this device one probably won’t have to be worried about it straining receptacles or losing its prongs. The PowerPort 2 Elite is a 20 watt charger that features 2 USB charging ports with Power IQ technology. This charger is able to charge an iPhone 4 all the way up to the iPhone XS Max and do it all without breaking a sweat. Each USB port is rated at 5V 2.4 Amps making it an excellent contender for charging iPads. Upon plugging the charger into a wall outlet I was greeted by a blue LED indicating that is was receiving power. Kudos to Anker for providing this feature. Before purchasing this charger I had read that the previous model had a two tone LED which indicated the charging status of the attached devices. I’m a big fan of such a feature and wished that it could have been included in this revision. The LED on this updated model remains blue regardless of the charging status of attached devices. The PowerPort 2 Elite features what Anker calls MultiProtect technology which enables the charger to provide surge protection, temperature control, short-circuit prevention and current stabilization. The current stabilizer makes itself known when unplugging the device from a wall outlet. The blue LED gradually fades, baring evidence that a capacitor is present. For those wondering, capacitors are used in many instances for smoothing/filtering current. The current travels from the wall outlet to the transformer and into the capacitor where it is stored for a period of time. The stored current is then fed to the attached device in a stable manner, regardless of minor fluctuations that may occur at the wall outlet. I am not able to comment on this device’s surge protection as Anker has not listed any VPR (Voltage Protection Rating), clamping voltage or the amount of Joules protection provided. In that case I would not rely on this device for its surge protection capabilities. The device is not UL or ETL listed, it does however have certification from TUV Singapore and PSE Japan as evidenced by the logos at the bottom of the device. When you put into perspective what a charger is designed to do, the Anker PowerPort 2 Elite is an excellent charger. It’s beautiful, light and compact. Most importantly, it does a great job of charging my iPhone and Bluetooth Headphones simultaneously at full speed.

Okay, I'll admit it, I like USB power supplies that have a light on them so that I know they're plugged into a power strip that's turned on. But it's the speed of charging my iPhone (i.e. the PowerIQ feature), and the general reliability of Anker products, as compared to the no-name "ice cube" USB power supplies, that has made me buy several of these Anker units over the past few years. The worst that I can say about any of the Anker USB power supplies that I have bought so far (about five in total) is that the blue LED light on one unit quit after about three years of use, but the unit itself still works fine. I put it in the bedroom to keep the room dark at night while charging my smart phone. I keep one of these units near the front door for those times when I forget to charge my phone overnight, and want to give it a quick charge in the morning before I head out the door. This gives the much slower cigar-lighter charger in my car a big head start.

Five years of use and the two I bought still are going strong. As always, Anker quality in every one of their products.

Speedy charging for all my devices, highly recommend - loved the one I got for downstairs so much I came back for this second order to have one upstairs. There's no USB-C port, so if that's a deal breaker for you this isn't your charger - personally I have so many USB-A- to-whatever cables lying around for devices old and new that I don't need a C port. (By the time all those cables wear out they'll probably have come up with yet another port type!)

Es segunda vez que compro estos cargadores ya que la rapidez con la que cargan es increible. También fue un reemplazo porque el anterior simplemente no detectaba la corriente así estuviese conectado en la pared (enchufe).

Sin problemas hasta el momento, se siente bastante solido al tacto, da una sensación de calidad. Lo utilizo para cargar un iPhone 8 y definitivamente es más rápido que el cargador de 2A.

Buen producto,la marca cuida muy bien sus empaques, carga excelente para demandas de gadgets grandes, la única observación es que se calienta cuando le demandas plena carga nada grave y hasta normal. pero es muy buen producto
