Made my firs candles for Christmas gifts! This se was great. I needed a few other supplies but he hot plate worked great. Yo9u have to let it burn somewhere for like 20 minutes to burn off the op layer of the plate. I did this outside on my porch because it smokes and doesn't smell good . It must not be healthy to breath so burn off first use in a very well ventilated area, outside or also wear a face mask!! The quality of the supplies was beyond expectation. Strong, durable . The thermometer worked great. Id never used one. It just has 2 butons for F/C and power. Simple. The hot plate does take a minute to boil water but then again so does a stove! The silicone mat/coaster it comes with, is handy and obviously sustains heat. Overall this was great quality for the price and I totally recommend purchasing! Candle making is so much fun! I did learn that I prefer using beeswax for molds and soy for jars. This set doeant come with jars but you can just get them separately. Great purchase!

Used this to test some wax I brought. Very easy to set up and everything came in the box and it was clean. Thermometer was accurate, the wax melted wonderfully and the stickers and wick holders are good quantity. Now my issues: 1. The hot plate gets REALLY HOT. I cranked it to 5 (the max) and almost cooked my wax. I recommend not going above 3. 2. The cooling mat is not heat resistant. It melted and the pouring pitcher adhered to it and I had to wipe off the melted wax. The mat isn't 100% necessary. You can use a coaster. 3. This thing SMOKES. Idk if it's from the hot plate or if the hot plate is burning the pouring pitcher, but it smokes every time I try to melt wax. I recommend having a small fan to blow the smoke around. I am hoping this will stop with time. But I am over all impressed and happy with my purchase.

Don't spill wax on the hot plate , it works great but will smoke if wax gets on the plate

Exactly what I needed to get started, just add jars and some fragrance oil. A kitchen scale is also something you might want to invest in as well. The wicks are very small, they don't work very well in 4oz jar candles, so I would invest in some better quality wicks. The wax is decent quality, I would love to see some instructions, or maybe some ideal temp ranges for adding fragrance or pour temp, but those aren't included. I mixed my fragrance at 8% fragrance load, mixed at 185 F and poured at 145 F and they turned out nicely! Overall, a decent kit for beginners like myself. Make sure to scrub the melting pot, it has a residue on it from the factory that makes it smoke when first heated up. I washed it with a sponge and Dawn dish soap, and this fixed it. This will do the job but its sketchy. I recommend melting your wax with the heat set @ 3. It may take longer but that base of the heater gets very very hot and stays hot for quite some time, dangerously hot. Make sure and use it on steel or metal surface if possible amd unplug immediately after use.

I’m not a serious hobby candlemaker, I make 2 sizes of plain paraffin votive candles for personal use. But my melting pot was too small, and the wax seemed to take forever to melt using the the pot in the double boiler setup I had. So I bought this for a larger pour pot and a dedicated burner. I liked have the heat diffuser over the actual heating coils, so I didn’t have to use a double boiler with the pour pot. The wax melts easily and quickly. The wax is also hotter than it was w/ the double boiler setup. The pouring temp isn’t a big deal for me, because I don’t use colour or fragrance. However, it did disrupt my routine in one way; it melted the plastic bathroom size “paper” cups I used as molds for slightly larger candles. I love this setup. I make a few candles at a time, it’s so easy to integrate that w other kitchen tasks.

Is perfect for melting my wax, warms up really fast. So happy I don't have to use my stove anymore. I recommend it.

Buena capacidad cuidado al utilizar en nivel 1 y 2 no enciende el foco pero si calienta y derrite la cera a buen tiempo
