I bought the Kaco Gel Pens after hearing that staff at Aesop stores use them, and I have to say, the rumors were right—the design is absolutely stunning. If you appreciate a clean, modern, and "aesthetic" look for your office supplies, these are the gold standard. Beyond the beautiful matte finish and simple retractable design, the 0.5mm fine point offers an incredibly smooth writing experience. The ink is rich, black, and dries quickly, which is essential for my daily work where I'm constantly signing documents and taking notes. I have used these pens for work (I’m a nurse) for over a year. They are the real deal! I’m territorial over these pens because they are so nice, and I even carry a cheap “loaner pen” so I never risk giving one of these away. They write super smoothly, no smudging, nice consistent fine lines, and I love the way the matte finish feels in my hand. I’m writing this review as I repurchase them because I’ve finally reached for the last 2 in the box.

I bought these twice already. I really love the pen, it writes very smoothly. However, there's like a 10-20% failure rate. Some of the pens in the pack will not work after a while, even though there is still plenty of ink. I tried blowing them and used tips from Reddit, but no luck.

As someone who does an extraordinary amount of writing with pens, I have always been looking for the "best pen." Last year I was using the Sharpie S-Gel (another fantastic pen) but was gifted a Kaco 0.5 PURE and I have not gone back. In fact, not only have I now probably purchased about 3 boxes of pens for myself, but I gave a box of Kaco PURE pens to everyone in my family for Christmas last year. These pens write smoothly, feel great in your hand, have an excellent click to them, and they just work well! I've had maybe only 1 pen that I had a problem with skipping. If you are someone that wants some color, there is also plenty of variety with the entire pack of colored pens (which I'll be purchasing soon). The best pen that I have ever used, and a great value for the price.

Been throwing out all my junk pens, and I have a really nice softer pen that spreads a lot of ink. But this is a daily use pen for me and the sharpness and crispness on it is astounding. By sharpness, I mean the tip of the pen and the ink it lays out. The ink is so fine you may write/draw very small. It's handy for a small journal entries or notepad notes.

I just got these today and they’re great. They fell like a gel pen, the .5mm is very small and clean. But they don’t smudge and dry quickly. Great pen, will definitely buy more!
