This filter is great and would be especially good for salt water or river/stream setups. If you have goldfish, no substrate, or heavy substrate, this would be a good fit. I can see this being great for ponds and turtle tanks, too. It's too strong and not adjustable enough for your typical decorative tanks with slower moving fish— unless you're good at scaping in enough releif/still areas. I'll be using this as a pump and will intermittently use it for when my tank needs a deep clean and filtration. High flow and quick to clear the water column. I like the filter media it came with, but I also added some of my own and there's plenty of maneuvering that can be done if you're picky about your filters like I am. Came well packaged and everything was included. The instructions were cute and very intuitive. It's much quieter than any over the side filters and will be bigger and more heavy duty than most. Well worth the price. I saw that some were struggling with the noise level and keeping this thing working and here are my recommendations for a successful set up: *Prime the filter before turning it on. Make sure it is fully submerged and has had time to fill with water. Turn it around until no air bubbles are coming out. *Add additional mixed filter media on top of the sponges, especially if it's already been cycled with good bacteria. I added clay rounds but kept them above the water inlet so the water goes through the sponges first. *If you want the quietest option, remove the air hose. It's not necessary, but nice to have, and you can always add it as needed. *Turn the filter off before making adjustments or moving it. If you bring it out of the water while it's running you can easily ruin it. *Initially, if your tank is gross, it will need to be rinsed more often until it stabilizes the water quality. That means it's doing it's job. Get a larger filter if it still can't keep up after 30 days.

This is the best filter I've had so far. Usually I would have 2 of these type of filters in my 75 gallon tank, but 1 does just the job right. It's a bit noisy but pushes out enough flow to pick up the mess a turtle can make.

I ordered this filter and it was lost in transit, so I cancelled the order and reordered. In the end I was charged for 2 filters, but only received one. My transaction was noted as cancelled through Amazon; however, there was no way to receive a refund. I contacted the seller and was able to get refunded for the lost/cancelled item. I'm using this filter in an outdoor 300 gallon pond. It is very powerful (I originally ordered the next level up, but it was too strong for the pond and I had to return it) and was able to clean up an algae bloom quickly. It's super easy to take apart and clean. I highly recommend this filter for a larger (200-200 gallon) tank or pond.

This was a great investment. I was worried initially because I read some of the other reviews about the powerful air that this filter puts out and it is in the video I posted I turned it towards the front of the tank, so it blows only in that one corner. And it works like a charm, my tank is so much cleaner highly recommend

I took in some turtles and the filter they came with was horrible. This one took the murky water(from sand that I washed a million times) and it is crystal clear!!! The turtles love the air stream they walk at the bottom, swim up to the opening and let it take them on a ride. It’s so worth the price. Easy to clean and came with clear instructions such as sit at the top of the take for fish and bottom for turtles. It doesn’t take up much room for it to be so powerful. IF I need to replace it I would definitely just rebuy this one but I highly doubt that will be any time soon.

Came damaged. My old filter broke & not too sure how this one is working yet. I have 4 turtles in a huge 75-100 gallon tank. Hopefully this clears up the water.

Very happy with the tank filter. The flow coming out was impressive. Very high flow. I would buy it again when I need more. Recommended.

I bought this item in May and it no longer worked in November. I expected it to last at least a year. Extremely disappointed. For those that have issues with filter floating to the top place some bigger rocks that will fit in the bottom below the spong to weight it down.

This is a great addition to my aquarium, while it is made for up to 200 gallons it works great in my 100 gallon tank. Keeps my water clear and the fish love it!
