Works well. Worth the money, can save your Sunsetter!
Works well, has closed the Sunsetter when got windy out, which is good, as we want to keep it open as much as possible without constantly having to keep an eye on it. Easy to install, would recommend just sticking to end of outside of arm. Almost drilled through the front shade until I gave it some thought. Almost impossible to mount it if you follow the directions, as the inside bar where it tells you to install it is curved. We left it as Level 2, and that seems to be fine. Level 1 is the most sensitive. Make sure you mount with arrows up. I have seen pictures of people that mount it sideways, which probably won't work, as the now you are monitoring the lateral up/down, vs the horizontal up/down.

Were to purchase the housing for the wind sensor
After several years since we purchased the Sun Setter Awnings, the batteries for the wind sensor died. The directions were very unclear as to how to remove the housing. As a result some of the tabs that held the housing in place broke off. We have taped it in place, but are really disappointed with what happened. The directions could have been much more specific. Where might I get the housing for the sensor.

Sensor with a mind of its own!
We like to keep our awning out at night, but unfortunately the sensor retracts in the middle of the night, every night around 3am, sometimes in the day with no wind. Replaced the batteries, but makes no difference. Watched every video to see if I can get it to stop doing it. For some reasons unable to return the unit via amazon because it has gas inside it? Seems weird. Will try Somfy customer service. Here is the message I get when I try to return This item isn't eligible for return For safety reasons, items containing flammable liquids or gases can’t be returned to Amazon. Arrived quickly and intact
The awning was just as pictured. The installation was not done by me, but the installers appeared to have no problem. At first, it was a bit crooked, but once installers checked manual, it was easily corrected. I'm very happy with my purchase, thus far!

Not designed for easy battery replacement but there are some tricks
I purchased this exact unit elsewhere. Everything worked great until the batteries died after five years (!) and then I learned the unit was not designed for easy battery replacement. The included instructions do not address this basic task, it's not obvious from the design, and after five years, I don't remember how I put it together! There are some tricks, though, and that's why I'm writing--to save future purchasers some pain. The cover releases from the base by SLIDING. The direction to push is indicated by the embossed "SOMFY" logo on the cover. Push from the starting "S" to the ending "Y" while holding the base secure to prevent the double-sided tape from weakening or shearing due to the force needed. Once the cover is removed, use a screwdriver to drop the battery tray down from inside the cover. There is a second trick with the batteries. Do not use the springs as indicators on which way to install the batteries because it's wrong. Instead, pay attention to the embossed plus and minus signs on the top. Once the batteries are installed, press the red button and verify the LED on the control board lights up. If it doesn't, recheck that the batteries are installed correctly. Finally, reverse the process to reinstall. I since used a a permanent marker on the cover to write " Hold base, then slide -->" so I don't have to worry about remembering all this again in five years.
