These are very light and comfortable shoes.
Very light and comfortable shoe. I wear these to work instead of my boots to provide more comfort for my feet. And I have been very satisfied thus far. I would recommend this product to anyone who is on their feet a lot.

Best Kept Secret in Civilian Hiking and Military Amphib Ops
I am really surprised these aren't more popular. The only other review I'd seen online about them came from a veteran Force Recon Marine who put them through a ruck, fin, run workout as a test. He had great things to say about them, so I gave them a try, and now you can add a second veteran Recon Marine to the list of endorsements! I bought them several months ago in advance of my honeymoon to Hawaii. I thought they would be a good fusion of hiking boots and surf booties, enabling me not to have to change back and forth between the two every time my hikes changed terrains. In reality, these work really well as pure hiking boots, and outperform surf booties by a mile. I did my own quality testing of them prior to recommending them to Recondos I served with who are still active duty. I put them through a simple hike that traversed some rocky terrain, as well as streams. They gripped the rocks really well; surprisingly so considering the tread isn't as pronounced as what you see on standard hiking boots. They also drained extremely fast whenever I walked through water. I decided to push the envelope and took them on a hiking trip with my buddies to Blue Ridge, GA, where we did multiple trails that are rated Hard on AllTrails. One of the trails (Arkaquah) was harder than probably 75% of the hikes I did in the Marine Corps. These boots did amazing! Couple of considerations: - Tiny pebbles can get stuck in the drain holes, but you can easily pick them out with a screwdriver or other tools in a multi-tool. - They can rub a tad against the side of your legs where the top of the bootie zips up. I unzipped them a tad if I was on easy terrain just to mitigate this. - I wore waterproof socks as well, just to help fill the boot out a little more. I don't think it's necessary, but it's what I was most comfortable with. - As far as sizing, get the same as your normal hiking boot - The Force Recon vet did a fin in these. I haven't tried them for a fin, but the ankle mobility is reminiscent of a surf bootie, and spring straps should easily fit around the heel. I always preferred booties to Chuck Taylor's for finning, and I think these would offer a dinning experience more akin to that of a surf bootie. Lightweight, durable, versatile, solid traction, and water compatible. They really did a good job of designing a boot to meet the needs of Navy SEALs and Recon Marines with these. They would be excellent for dive and amphibious ops, especially if you do an Amphib infil into a green side patrol. Every time I wear them I wish that I'd had them when I was active duty. Hopefully these start circulating more amongst the SOCOM community, as they are a great piece of gear to have!
